LEXINGTON, KY — The University of Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness is a special kind of event, where a packed crowd at Rupp Arena gear up for another season of Wildcats basketball. With a large lighting package from Bandit Lites, the televised festivities on Oct. 14 included an homage to former players, a flying Wildcat mascot, UK women’s coach Matthew Mitchell’s annual dance routine and the dynamic introduction of the 2016-2017 season’s players.

LOS ANGELES – Drake and Future wrapped the US leg of their sellout Summer Sixteen Tour dazzling crowds with their artistry and the visual impact of their arena show. The tour featured 780 moving LED spheres, which were previsualized in MA 3D and controlled by grandMA2 consoles to create abstract and figural lighting effects that delighted fans. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of MA Lighting products in North America. Glow Motion Technologies and Kinetic Lights were enlisted to provide the LED spheres and the DMX-powered winches, respectively.

LAS VEGAS — The 2016 LDI show, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Oct. 21-23, featured a slew of new ideas in the form of products and solutions all geared to make the lives of attendees a little brighter, flashier or just plain easier. Whether attendees were looking for a high-tech way to optimize their visual design work flow or a low-tech but useful gizmo that could be hammered into a squished connector to make it round again, solutions abounded on LDI’s show floor, which featured 350 exhibitors and a big audio demo area in the parking lot outside.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Bandit Lites is celebrating another remarkable year as it was once again named Lighting Company of the Year at the 16th Annual Parnelli Awards. Hosted by Grammy nominated composer/guitarist Andrew Below, the yearly gala took place October 22 at the Rio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas during LDI. In addition to being nominated every year since the awards inception in 2001, this year’s win marks the sixth time Bandit has been awarded the Parnelli and the 25th overall Lighting Company of the Year award for the company.
