MARBELLA, Spain – Rental company Sonobalance provided Clay Paky and other fixtures to light an all-night party at the Nikki Beach Marbella beach club earlier this summer. The light rig included 12 Clay Paky Mythos units with an MA Lighting grandMA2 ultra-light desk for control. David Calero Vioque managed the lighting for the event, using the fixtures to add to the festive atmosphere, using the Mythos as both a spot and beam fixture. The resort, pictured here, opened in 2003.

LAS VEGAS — The 2016 Parnelli Ballot has been finalized, and voting has begun! The ballot, which includes the six North American finalists for the Parnelli Award for Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year award (chosen during a separate round of voting in July) is posted online at parnelliawards.com, and it’s up to YOU, the PLSN reader, to decide who among the nominees will step up to the awards podium at the Rio in Las Vegas on the evening of Oct. 22.

HUNTINGTON, IN – CSD Group of Fort Wayne Indiana updated the look of services within venerable College Park Church in Huntington, IN with LED fixtures from Chauvet. CSD Group installed four Ovation F-95WW Fresnel fixtures from Chauvet Professional and 18 COLORband PiX tri color LED battens from Chauvet DJ.

The thermal management system was degrading faster than we anticipated and we made the choice to halt the shipment of a product that did not meet our internal standards. After months of redesigning, reworking, and retesting, we are pleased to announce that the new Source 4WRD has passed our rigorous testing. Given the overwhelmingly positive test results, the team agrees Source 4WRD is ready for re-release.

NASHVILLE – American rock band Chevelle, comprised of Dean Bernardini and brothers Pete and Sam Loeffler, have been making music and touring for more than two decades, but they aren’t kicking back and looking towards slowing down. Rather than rest on their laurels, the band released their eighth studio album The North Corridor this July and have been touring the country with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites.

NASHVILLE – Bandit Lites is once again supplying the lighting for The Band Perry as they tour the nation. The country music super group recently released “The Comeback Kid,” the next single off their upcoming album Heart + Beat. Lighting designer Jay Waddell based the design around an LED neon outlined heart shape, which had originally been a piece of artwork the band had used for branding.

DENVER — Bassnectar headlined the top spot at the Bass Center festival, which brought the low beats to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids pro soccer team July 29-30. Michael Smalley and Gabe Fraboni of Twin Designs began designing the lighting rig many months in advance, including MAC Axiom Hybrid fixtures in the rig.

WILKES-BARRE, PA — Mountain Productions has opened up registration for their Columbus McKinnon Hoist School. The event is set from March 20 until March 24, 2017. SCRANTON, PA — The Disco Biscuits’ three-day, two-stage extravaganza, Camp Bisco, returned this summer featuring acts like Lotus, Big Grizmatik and, of course, the Disco Biscuits themselves. Staged in Scranton, PA from July 14-16, the event’s lighting, video and audio was handled by Denver-based DSI Event Group. The Disco Biscuits’ LD, Johnny R. Goode III, chose two Avolites Sapphire Touch consoles running v9.1 software for the event.

CHARLOTTE, NC – Bandit Lites recently opened an office in Charlotte, NC. It’s led by senior system integrator Andrew Fisher (pictured here, left), who has been with Bandit since 2013. Bandit also recently hired Emily Eudy, who is serving at the Charlotte office’s installation project manager (pictured right). She brings a decade of industry experience, having worked for Barbizon and Rosco prior to joining Bandit Lites.
