WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Theatrical Media Services (TMS) has been supporting the Dave Matthews Band for 23 years, and lighting and scenic designer Fenton Williams has lit DMB since 1991. The lighting rig got an update this year with new fixtures including Elation Colour Chorus Series LED battens and SixPar 200 LED Par lights. This summer’s tour wraps up in early September with three shows in George, WA.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The 2016 RockStar Taste Of Chaos Tour recently wrapped a six week run across the U.S., giving live music fans high energy festival performances from headliners Dashboard Confessional as well as Taking Back Sunday, Saosin and The Early November. With lighting and video production supplied by Gemini Light Sound Video, the touring package included an ample assortment of High End Systems equipment, including 16 ShapeShifter C1’s, 17 SolaSpot 2000’s, Hog 4 control, Catalyst media servers and FQ100 fog generator.

ST. LOUIS – Logic Systems’ Chip Self has been providing the design, and fixtures, for El Monstero as the band draws crowds for its take on Pink Floyd’s greatest hits. Logic Systems, Self’s company, provided more than 75 Rogue, Legend, COLORado and COLORdash fixtures.

LOS ANGELES — Jake Whittingham and Dave Hill collaborated on the looks for Brit Floyd, a prominent Pink Floyd tribute band. For the band’s 2016 “Space and Time Continuum” tour legs in North America and Europe, The band relied on an extensive array of Elation Professional fixtures in 2015, and Whittingham and Hill opted to add Elation’s hybrid Platinum FLX and ACL Series fixtures to the rig for the 2016 shows.

MORRISON, CO – French DJ and music producer DJ Snake fired up the crowds at the recent Global Dance Festival staged in the breathtaking Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, Colorado, while his lighting designer Steve Brody (known industry wide as ‘Brody’) took full advantage of Robe BMFL Spots,  which were prominent among other fixtures on a ‘house’ lighting rig for the event supplied by DSI Event Group, also based in Denver.

DOVER, DE – For U.K.-based electronic music duo AlunaGeorge’s Aluna Francis and George Reid, who hit the American touring and festival circuit, performing at the Firefly Festival, Lollapalooza and other gigs, LD Eric Baum used a Bandit Lites-supplied rig that included GLP Impressions, GLP Spot Ones, and Bandit’s own LED GRNLite Battens. They are pictured here at the Firefly Festival in Dover, DE in mid-June.

LAS VEGAS — PLSN readers have chosen the six regional winners of the 2016 Hometown Hero Award competition.  These top vote getters from each of five U.S. regions plus all of Canada will be automatically entered on the Parnelli Awards ballot. PLSN readers will then get a chance to vote on which regional company will be awarded the coveted honor of Parnelli Hometown Hero Lighting Company of the Year. The 2016 Parnelli Ballot will be posted on parnelliawards.com in early September. The nominations process for all remaining Parnelli Award categories is now underway. The nominations deadline this year is Aug. 24, 2016.

DAVENPORT, IA — For the 2016 Miss Iowa competition, held in Davenport, Iowa’s Adler Theatre in June, Top-Notch Productions put an array of Martin RUSH MH 7 Hybrid fixtures through their paces. Energy efficiency was also a key concern, and the efficient output of the RUSH MH 7 fixtures enabled Top-Notch Productions to power the lights using just two 20-amp circuits.

BETHANY, OK — Paragon 360 made a dramatic change to the look of the sanctuary within Council Road Baptist Church in the Oklahoma City area. Along with new seating, carpeting and paint, the space now features 42 COLORado Batten 72 Tour RGBWA linear LED fixtures and nine COLORdash Par-Quad 18 units from Chauvet Professional.
