CHICAGO, IL.  – The show must go on. And in Chicago recently, Pirtek was working behind the scenes to ensure it would.  Pirtek’s work for Stageline helped Lollapalooza run without a hitch from July 28-31. Lollapalooza is an annual music festival that goes on world wide with acts that include alternative rock, punk, metal and comedy. The Chicago event featured more than 170 bands, including Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Two New ESTA Standards Published, Two Drafts in Public Review

NEW YORK — ESTA noted that two new standards were approved by ANSI and published in early August. They involve the design, installation and use of orchestra pit lifts and overhead mounting of luminaires and lighting accessories. ESTA also posted new standards for public review involving manually operated hoist rigging systems and, separately, recommended guidelines for entertainment rigging system inspections.

Miranda Lambert Tour Rig Includes Robe BMFLs

STURGIS, SD —Miranda Lambert is currently touring North America on her “Keeper of the Flame” tour. Paul “Arlo” Guthrie’s lighting design makes use of 27 Robe BMFLs, including 19 BMFL Spots and eight BMFL Blade fixtures. This is Guthrie’s first design for the popular country artist. His design includes five wood-framed columns of LED screens alternating with six bent-wood lighting towers on floor bases. Above this, there are five upstage / downstage trussing “fingers” and two standard straight trusses.
