NASHVILLE, TN – Tim Creedon, lighting director for Canaan Smith, spoke about how colored fog from Chauvet Professional’s Vesuvio fixtures were enhancing the looks for the country artist’s recent shows – and sharing the spotlight on stage. Creedon and Lighting designer Sooner Routhier used four Vesuvio RGBA units in their Canaan Smith rig.

PHILADELPHIA – For the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Starlite Productions of Moorestown, NJ and The Lighting Practice of Philadelphia, PA collaborated on a number of projects to enhance the look of Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station and City Hall. The lighting design for each landmark dictated a combination of powerful LED-wash lights as well as long-throw profile units for pattern projection of the various patriotic themed elements.

OMAHA, NE – As competition heats up for this summer’s Olympics it’s not only the athletes drawing attention. Swimming trials are becoming a popular spectator event with cities competing fiercely to win the rights to host them. Omaha, Nebraska and the Century Link Center presented this seasons Olympic swimming trials on June 26 to July 3rd for the 3rd time since 2008. ChamSys lighting consoles provided control, programmed and operated by Andrew Smith.

HUBER HEIGHTS, OH — For the current 98 Degrees tour, designer Butch Allen is using a rig that includes 24 Chauvet Professional Maverick MK2 Washes supplied by RK Diversified Entertainment. Dubbed the “My2K” tour, the trek evokes nostalgia for the music of the 1990s and early 2000s with its reference to the Y2K computer scare. 98 Degrees is joined by O-Town, Dream, and singer Ryan Cabrera on the journey, which launched near Wichita, KS on July 8 and wraps up in San Francisco in late August.

NASHVILLE – Sam Hunt’s musical career reached new heights these past couple of years with two Grammy nominations, five top 10 singles on the Hot Country Songs chart, and his first headlining tour. Lighting designer Taylor Price worked closely with production manager Graig Clinton and the artist and his management team to come up with the design. Price was given a lot of creative freedom to make this rig unique and versatile enough to work at both his headlining and supporting acts. He turned to 4Wall Nashville for an upgraded lighting package for Hunt’s 2016 tour.

BENSENVILLE, IL- ILC hosted its annual charity golf outing on July 21, with more than 60 golfers joined ILC’s staff, raising $10,000 for Behind the Scenes. LAS VEGAS – Electric Daisy Carnival is one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals in the world.  The June 2016 Las Vegas event generated more than 400,000 “turnstyle clicks” with attendance ranging from 130,000 to 135,000 for each of three nights starting on the evenings of June 17-19, 2016. The crowds were drawn with top EDM DJs, carnival rides, art and circus-style performances. HUNTER, NY– At the Healy Hall Stage, one of three stages featuring live music during Mountain Jam, a festival held at the Hunter Mountain ski resort in June, LD Kyle Rose of KTR Lighting used  Rogue R1 Spots from Chauvet Professional to light acts including The Movement, Upstate Rubdown, Madaila, Con Brio, Lettuce, and New Mastersounds.

MILWAUKEE— Clearwing Productions augmented its rental lighting inventory with 76 new Martin MAC Axiom Hybrids and deployed them, along with other fixtures, in the rigs for many of the stages of the biggest annual music festival in the world, Summerfest. They were used on six of the festival’s 11 permanent stages, playing a prominent role in the lighting for the BMO Harris Pavilion, the Miller Lite Oasis and the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage, among others.

SURFERS PARADISE, Australia – To herald the launch the new 7 Gold Coast News operation, LD Adam Volz of TLD Services used Robe BMFL Spots positioned near the top of the the 322 meter high Q1 building to project four 24 meter wide gobo images onto the beach below. Pete Coorey from Select Audio-Visual Hire in Brisbane, Australia helped with the project as well.

HARRIMAN, TN — LD/installer Ken “KP” Patterson got an impressive response from members of Big Emory Baptist Church after installing Ovation E-910FC ERS style LED fixture from Chauvet Professional — a thank you letter signed by close to 30 members of the congregation for his help transforming the look of the church’s services.
