NASHVILLE – A.C.T Lighting, Inc. served up big helpings of home-cooked BBQ with sides of the latest products from Clay Paky, Robert Juliat, Chainmaster and Eurotruss at a showcase special event during the recent CMA Music Festival in Nashville. A.C.T Lighting selected Soundcheck, the premier rehearsal studio in Nashville, for its showcase venue. Area rental houses, lighting shops, and lighting designers and programmers were invited to view the products and fill up on some of the best BBQ in town.

RALEIGH, NC – First Assembly Church, an Assemblies of God-affilated church that relocated to a renovated 58,000 square foot industrial facility. installed more than 80 Chroma-Q Inspire color-changing LED house light fixtures to provide an immersive worship experience. Executive Pastor, Danny Collins turned to Douglas Hood, president of Indiana-based CSD Group, to supply a lighting solution for the new building.

LAS VEGAS, NV – The Electric Daisy Carnival, (EDC) produced by Insomniac, returned to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to celebrate its 20th year of providing high energy dance music in a community of love, respect, and togetherness. EDC took over the infield of the speedway June 17-19, 2016, with attendees taking in 300 DJs from sunset to sunrise each day. Producer  Pasquale Rotella of Insomniac once again put together another visual spectacle that spanned the vast grounds and was enjoyed by the huge crowds in attendance.

HARTFORD, CT – Sir Robert Bryson Hall II and Gerald Earl Gillum, also known as G-Eazy and Logic, wrapped the North American “Endless Summer” tour with a show at Hartford’s Xfinity Arena on Aug. 5. The tour featuring YG, Yo Gotti, and special guests. LMG Touring is providing lighting, video switching, camera packages, and technical support for G-Eazy and Logic. Recently, members of the fourth estate visited the hotel on the banks of the Charles River to make news, rather than cover it, by participating in the 39th annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards.

LAS VEGAS — For Garth Brooks’ “Man Against Machine” tour, the artist is actually working with machinery, including an automated truss setup launched with the latest redesign of the show in late 2015. As part of that redesign, the size of the video screens increased and with that came the need to move them faster. The tour is now using a full Kinesys automation system which was specified by Atlanta Rigging Services (ARS), brought on-board by production to take care of all rigging requirements.

LAS VEGAS – The Electric Daisy Carnival returned to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 17-19, 2016. The event marked 20 years of Electric Daisy Carnivals, and the sixth year in Las Vegas. For the circuitGrounds stage, LD Steve Lieberman and SJ Lighting presented a new visual concept that incorporated lighting, video and set / structural design. The architecture was based on a 360 degree coliseum look – classical lines with industrial attitude. The lighting setup included close to 350 Robe fixtures – 212 Pointes, 83 BMFL Spots and 38 BMFL WashBeams.

CARSON, CA— Wango Tango, held at the Stub Hub Center May 14, once again presented audiences with an all-star lineup, as the event’s organizers have strived to do since the event began in 1998. Visions Lighting was there again this year providing a majority of the events’ structural and visual elements for the line-up, which included Ariana Grande, Gwen Stefani, Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony and other top acts. The day-long concert is sponsored by Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM.

HOUSTON — Working with other law enforcement agencies, the Houston Police Department has made 80 arrests so far in an investigation into an organized crime ring that focuses on thefts of valuables transported via trailers. As of June 28, charges had been filed against 130 suspects in Houston and surrounding areas. A key break in the case, dubbed “Operation Wheels and Deals,” took place as police were tracking a van and trailer belonging to country music singer Zane Williams that were stolen outside a Houston-area restaurant on May 16, 2015. A GPS tracking device helped authorities pinpoint the missing trailer, and there they discovered motorcycle apparel and accessories that had been reported stolen in another trailer heist.

Eighteen of the just-arrived Scenius Profiles are set to debut on Univision’s Premios Juventud 2016, the network’s annual youth awards telecast.  Lighting Designer Carlos Colina is expected to deploy them as band key lights.

ATLANTA – Inspired by the hit TV show, American Ninja Warrior, SlingShot Entertainment’s indoor facility in Peachtree Corners near Atlanta makes use of Milos structural products for its 12,000-square-foot obstacle course. The course, with 24 challenging obstacles designed by American Ninja Warrior contestant Jason Huewe, makes use of Milos components including their QTL/QTV truss.
