Panic! At The Disco Tours with Bandit Lites

NASHVILLE – Panic! at the Disco wrapped their spring tour with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. The American pop/rock band known for their clever lyrics and distinctive sound released their fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor, earlier this year, and is gearing up for a co-headlining summer tour with Weezer. Lighting designer Alex Specht of Spechtrum Lighting created a multi-layered look using a floor package that symmetrically parted a center drum riser with Martin MAC Vipers and Chauvet RH1 Rogues along the deck, road cases and four 6-foot truss towers with alternately hung Chauvet Nexus 4x4s and Atomic Strobes.

Rock Band 311 Marks Another 311 Day in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – It’s an even-numbered year so it was time for rock band 311 to celebrate their biennial 311 Day with two arena shows in New Orleans on March 11 and 12.  Lighting designer Joe Paradise of House Lights Go Inc. and assistant designer/programmer Bobby Grey selected Clay Paky fixtures and a grandMA2 console for the event, which drew 15,000 fans representing every US state and 17 countries.  A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Clay Paky and MA Lighting products in North America.

ESTA’s Production Equipment Rental Group Honors NYPD Detectives at Las Vegas Meeting

LAS VEGAS – An audience of roughly 185 industry professionals applauded as ESTA’s Production Equipment Rental Group (PERG) honored two New York City Police Detectives from the Major Case Squad, Martin Pastor and Anthony Diaz, who have recovered more than $700,000 worth of stolen equipment over the past nine months. The award was given at PERG’s annual general membership meeting on Tuesday, April 19th at NAB in Las Vegas.

Elation Platinum Fixtures Light Off-Broadway’s ‘Death for Five Voices’

NEW YORK – LD Susan Nicholson used Elation Professional’s Platinum Spot 35 Pro moving heads for front lighting, backlighting and texturing on a recent Off Broadway production of the new musical drama, Death for Five Voices. Nicholson used the Platinum Spot 35 Pro for front light and highlights for the production, which was staged March 24 through April 17 at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New Yorky. The production was inspired by the life and work of Renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo.

March Madness Music Festival Rig Includes Chauvet Professional Next NXT-1 Fixtures

HOUSTON -– The 2016 NCAA March Madness Music Festival, offering three days of music April 1-3 to Houston’s Discovery Green just prior to the April 4 final matchup between Villanova and North Carolina, drew huge crowds with a roster of headliners that included Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy and Pitbull, among others. John Dickson of LD Systems in Houston worked with Turner Live Events to create the rig with programming done by individual band LDs. Throughout the festival, the high-impact show gained energy from the rapid movements of the rig’s 32 Next NXT-1 moving LED panels from Chauvet Professional.
