INDIO, CA – For Norwegians Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund, who performed at this year’s Coachella festival, LD Michael Sheck of L7 Productions included Chauvet Professional Nexus Aq 5×5 LED panels in the rig, which was supplied and installed by Kilroys Lighting and Production of Las Vegas.

NASHVILLE – Panic! at the Disco wrapped their spring tour with a lighting package provided by Bandit Lites. The American pop/rock band known for their clever lyrics and distinctive sound released their fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor, earlier this year, and is gearing up for a co-headlining summer tour with Weezer. Lighting designer Alex Specht of Spechtrum Lighting created a multi-layered look using a floor package that symmetrically parted a center drum riser with Martin MAC Vipers and Chauvet RH1 Rogues along the deck, road cases and four 6-foot truss towers with alternately hung Chauvet Nexus 4x4s and Atomic Strobes.

NEW ORLEANS – It’s an even-numbered year so it was time for rock band 311 to celebrate their biennial 311 Day with two arena shows in New Orleans on March 11 and 12.  Lighting designer Joe Paradise of House Lights Go Inc. and assistant designer/programmer Bobby Grey selected Clay Paky fixtures and a grandMA2 console for the event, which drew 15,000 fans representing every US state and 17 countries.  A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Clay Paky and MA Lighting products in North America.

LAS VEGAS – The Behind the Scenes Happy Hour, hosted by ESTA, will return for its third year on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6pm-8pm at the Westgate Las Vegas. Sponsorship opportunities are now available to LDI exhibitors and attendees, and tickets will go on sale in the summer.

LAS VEGAS – An audience of roughly 185 industry professionals applauded as ESTA’s Production Equipment Rental Group (PERG) honored two New York City Police Detectives from the Major Case Squad, Martin Pastor and Anthony Diaz, who have recovered more than $700,000 worth of stolen equipment over the past nine months. The award was given at PERG’s annual general membership meeting on Tuesday, April 19th at NAB in Las Vegas.

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA  —  Stage drapery manufacturer, Sew What? Inc. has produced another unique opening show drape for this year’s Kenny Chesney’s “Spread the Love” Tour, which kicked off April 23 in Auburn, AL. The tour will support the artist’s Noise album, which is due out early this summer.

AUSTIN, TX – When Bud Light decided to throw a party at South by Southwest Music Festival, they went all out. Working with Mosaic and LiveNation, Bandit Lites provided the lighting package for both the Brazos Event Center and the rousing upstairs party, where musical performances throughout the weekend included Bleachers, A$AP Ferg, Yo Gotti, The Struts, MisterWives, Santigold, and Bloc Party, capping the festivities Saturday night with The Roots SXSW Jam featuring Big Grams (Big Boi and Phantogram) and other special guests.

DELRAY BEACH, FL  – The Ride Delray Indoor Cycling Studio turned to Jay Krause and his team at Sound and Lighting Solutions for a ‘wave wall’ made from Chauvet Professional and Iluminarc LED fixtures. The wall consists of 8 COLORdash Batten-Hex 8 linear washes and 12 Ilumipod LOGIC Tri-4  RGB color mixing fixtures.

NEW YORK – LD Susan Nicholson used Elation Professional’s Platinum Spot 35 Pro moving heads for front lighting, backlighting and texturing on a recent Off Broadway production of the new musical drama, Death for Five Voices. Nicholson used the Platinum Spot 35 Pro for front light and highlights for the production, which was staged March 24 through April 17 at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New Yorky. The production was inspired by the life and work of Renaissance composer Carlo Gesualdo.

INDIO, CA – At the Coachella Music and Arts Festival’s Gobi Tent, Sean Coates of RK Diversified Entertainment lit an eclectic array of performers with a design that included 15 Rogue R2 Beam fixtures from Chauvet Professional mounted on five “fingers” of overhead truss.

HOUSTON -– The 2016 NCAA March Madness Music Festival, offering three days of music April 1-3 to Houston’s Discovery Green just prior to the April 4 final matchup between Villanova and North Carolina, drew huge crowds with a roster of headliners that included Maroon 5, Fall Out Boy and Pitbull, among others. John Dickson of LD Systems in Houston worked with Turner Live Events to create the rig with programming done by individual band LDs. Throughout the festival, the high-impact show gained energy from the rapid movements of the rig’s 32 Next NXT-1 moving LED panels from Chauvet Professional.
