LAS VEGAS – Novalight returned to LDI this year where it was distributing with DNJ Pro, their exclusive distributor for North America, to showcase their entire lineup of products and present the industry with their newest moving light, the Nova-Scope.

LOS ANGELES – 4Wall Entertainment Lighting has reached an agreement to purchase the assets of Los Angeles-based Entertainment Lighting Services (ELS). ELS, established in 1991 by founder John Chuck, is well known for providing lighting rentals, system integration, and special event production services.

NEW YORK – Now sponsored by banking giant Citi, the Today Show’s concert series at Manhattan’s Rockefeller Center recently featured a performance by Selena Gomez. LD Peter Greenbaum included Chauvet fixtures in the rig. WorldStage supplied the gear, which included Nexus 4×4 LED panels and Next NXT-1 moving fixtures.

AUSTIN, TX – For the Eli Young Band’s recent show at the 4,000-capacity Nutty Brown Café & Amphitheatre, Dave Carr added 24 Next NXT-1 moving LED panels from Chauvet Professional to his rig, which had already included Chauvet Nexus 4x4s. Carr says the fixtures came recommended by Josh Peikert and Erich Meitzner of Hoopty Lights, the band’s preferred Midwest-based lighting vendor.

LAS VEGAS – GLP reported a successful LDI 2015 show in Las Vegas, with a variety of awards and honors accompanying the positive response the company got at its booth and demo area. GLP also noted that its 2015 LDI booth, pictured here, was “the largest trade show stand they had ever assembled.”

ORLANDO, FL – For his True Colors world tour, an Aug. 6-Nov. 28 trek in support of his second studio album that goes by the same name, Russian-German musician Zedd turned to Pyrotecnico for a special effects assist. Along with custom pyrotechnic spinners, close proximity pyrotechnics, flames, cryogenics, confetti and streamers, Pyrotecnico used a total of 9 high power KVANT laser systems for the tour. They also utilized Pangolin’s Beyond software and FB3QS hardware to design and control the RGB Spectrum series lasers.

SAN FRANCISCO – Director GMUNK and Visual Artist Adam LaBay of Future Weapons Lighting worked on the visuals to support the release of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Android smartphones. They used Pangolin’s BEYOND software and laser projections to add to the excitement surrounding the product’s launch.

MEXICO CITY – For the Hyde nightclub, Rodrigo Molina of Light Moxion created a new system using a lighting design fashioned by Michael Meacham of iDesign Productions (Miami). Along with color changing Swarovski candelabrums and LED tiles, the new design includes 32 Rogue fixtures from Chauvet Professional.

NASVILLE – Elation Professional is bringing its latest lighting and video products to the WFX show, which is set for Nov. 18-19 at the Music City Center in Nashville. Featured products will include the Platinum FLX hybrid moving head (pictured here) as well as the company’s Emotion moving head digital light.
