Nemetschek Vectorworks Giving Students a Chance to Attend Industry Events for Free

COLUMBIA, MD – Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. announced a Conference Pass Giveaway program with a chance at free conference passes and hotel stays for U.S. students. The prized are awarded to students on the basis of a 300- to 500-word statement about why they want to attend a specific conference and how they believe it will benefit them professionally. Applicants do not have to currently use a Vectorworks software program in order to be eligible, but they are asked to “Like” Vectorworks on Facebook.

Train’s ‘Bulletproof Picasso’ Tour Rig Includes Robe Fixtures Continues

POMONA, CA – San Francisco rockers Train continue their Bulletproof Picasso tour with the current two month US leg playing a selection of major arenas and sheds. A prominent feature of the design are 10 lighting pods – that move into different positions during the show. LD Brock Hogan has specified 90 x CycFX 4s, 40 x Pointes and 15 x LEDBeam 1000s from Robe for the tour. LMG provided the gear.

Alford Media Services Adds Eight Luminex GigaCore 16Xt Switches

COPPELL, TX – Alford Media Services, Inc. has added eight Luminex GigaCore 16Xt switches to its inventory.  The systems are currently used to manage two Yamaha CL5 console packages and the Dante protocol for projects on the road. Video Village inputs and outputs are tied in with another pair of cat5 connections to the backstage GigaCore switches. The system manages Yamaha Rio Ri8-D and Ro8-D input and output boxes in the FOH rack; a Rio 3224 I/O box and Ri8-D input box in the backstage rack; and a Rio 1608-D I/O box in the Video Village rack.
