MÜNSTER, Germany — For the European tour of The Australian Pink Floyd Show, LD Phil White’s design includes an Entec-supplied lighting rig with Clay Paky, Robe, Vari-Lite, i-Pix, Martin and ETC fixtures. The visual centerpiece is a five-meter diameter circular truss with a Christie/Green Hippo Grasshopper projection setup. Extras include a Tarm/Beam Burst laser show (with an assist from ER Productions) and various inflatable puppets. Tom Mumby is operating the show on the road.

POMPTON LAKES, NJ – Pompton Lakes High School received a theatrical lighting system upgrade with the help of Nelson Enterprises and Chauvet Professional. The new LED-centered rig includes 12 COLORado Batten 72 Tour fixtures, three Ovation C-640FC cyc fixtures and 10 FOH LED ellipsoidals, all controlled by a Strand Lighting Neo console.

LAS VEGAS – Bandit Lites and LD Mark Carver once again joined forces to help set the stage for this year’s Stellar Awards, which honored top Gospel artists at Las Vegas’ Orleans arena. The live event, which was also televised, was co-hosted by David and Tamela Mann and Rickey Smiley and honored President Barack Obama, Bishop Paul Morton, Andrae Crouch and Al “The Bishop” Hobbs.

INDIO, CA – For the DJ booth at Coachella’s Yuma Tent, LD Steve Lieberman of SJ Lightingturned to Chauvet Professional’s Nexus Aw 7×7 LED panels. Lieberman arranged 47 of the Nexus Aw 7×7 panels in front of the DJ booth to create a video surface that lent a club look to the performance area.

ARLINGTON, TX – The 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, televised with a record-setting live audience April 19 at AT&T Stadium, featured memorable moments including Garth Brooks’ tribute to the U.S. armed forces.  LD Bob Dickinson, Jon Kusner and the rest of the Full Flood team relied upon Syncrolite SXL 7K fixtures on stage and upstage to backlight Brooks and his band during the broadcast.

OLATHE, KS – When Blue Valley Baptist Church expanded with its acquisition of a 280-capacity, 1980s-vintage church here last year, it treated both its new congregation there and its worshipers at its 605-seat facility in Overland Park, KS with lighting upgrades.
