MILLBURN, NJ – Paper Mill Playhouse recently turned to 4Wall New York for the lighting gear necessary to bring Elf- a production based on the Will Ferrell movie of the same name- to the stage this winter season.

PALM SPRINGS, CA–– Modernism Week is an annual Palm Springs event celebrating the architecture and lifestyle that characterized this SoCal enclave of the rich and famous back in the 1950s and 1960s. For a VIP event held by Land Rover, KM Productions provided the  sound and lighting, including LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional.

VAIL, CO – Beaver Creek and Vail hosted FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2015, which drew athletes representing 68 nations and viewership from around the world. TMS supported related events with lighting, truss, staging and LED video elements. The lighting design included 37 Q-7 flood/blind/strobes and 16 P-5 wash lights from SGM.

DETROIT – For Garth Brooks’ current U.S. tour, LD Dave Butzler included 48 Robe LEDWash 1200s, supplied by Bandit Lites, which purchased the fixtures specially for the tour. Brooks’ 2014 and 2015 shows are in support of the country artist’s first studio album in 13 years, Man Against Machine.

NEW YORK – USITT’s Board Mentorship program is designed to offer experience to young professionals and students interested in non-profit arts administration. USITT is accepting applications through April 28 for the third round of the program. Of those applying, two will be chosen to learn from USITT’s 32-member Board of Directors for the July1, 2015 – June 30, 2016 fiscal year.

MMIDDLETON, WI – ETC has officially extended the deadline on the early-bird discount for the biennial CUE professional development conference to March 13. The end-user conference will take place June 26-28, 2015 in Madison, WI, at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.

RALEIGH, NC – Mikey Cummings, a 20-year veteran of the lighting industry, pushed for Pulse Lighting to invest in an Avolites Sapphire Touch console last year. Pulse Lighting acted on his recommendation, and Cummings used the flagship lighting console for the 2014/2015 tour by The Old Crow Medicine Show in support of their Grammy Award-winning album, Remedy.

LOS ANGELES – Bob Dickinson of Full Flood, who served as LD for the 2015 Grammy Awards, turned to Syncrolite to create the solid beams of light that accompanied AC/DC’s performance at Staples Center. Dickinson used 12 SXL 7K fixtures for the high-impact show.

ERLANGER, KY – tvONE is offering an ongoing series of courses on both CORIO2 and Magenta, as well as CORIOmax training. The company’s next training session is set for March 11-12, 2015.

CINCINNATI, OH – Tony-winning scene designer Donyale Werle will present a session on sustainable set design and award the first Broadway Green Alliance College Captains Prize at USITT 2015 in Cincinnati March 20.

BROOKLYN, NY – Kevin Mignone of KM Productions met the challenge of lighting the Dada Life concert dubbed “The “Secret Warehouse” with Chauvet Professional fixtures. The event also featured Paul van Dyk and kicked off Dada Life’s Compound Tour.
