COOS BAY, OR – Media Matrix has completed two new museum installations with the support of audio and video equipment from Alcorn McBride.  The company tapped Alcorn McBride’s DVM8500 Digital Video Machine for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Capitol Museum and both a DVM8500 and AM4  (Professional Digital Audio Player) for the US Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Nature Center in Southern Oregon.

ATLANTA, GA – Atlanta Sound & Lighting rejuvenated the Gold Room nightclub with an all-LED lighting system from Elation Professional.

LITTLETON, CO – For a renovation project at Centennial Covenant Church, the MH Companies provided a lighting and controls package that includes gear from Philips’ Showline, Selecon and Strand Lighting divisions.

LENGWIL-OBERHOFEN, Switzerland – Laserworld opted to publish several fixture presets / fixture profiles for some of their show laser light systems, including their Club Series and Diode Series lasers. All fixture preset packs can be downloaded from the Laserworld download space.

LONDON – Steven Cohen and his associate Bryan Barancik included 12 GLP impression X4 XL, 16 impression X4 and 32 impression X4 S fixtures in their design for Lenny Kravitz’s Strut tour. Atomic Lighting supplied the gear.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Creative Backstage used EPIX 2.0 fixtures from Chauvet Professional in their design for Coors Light Birds Nest, a four-day event in a 50,000-square-foot tent that featured Kid Rock, Capital Cities, Darius Rucker and Afrojack. The festival was held in late January in conjunction with the Waste Management Open, part of the 2015 PGA tour, and also coincided with the runup to Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1. Valley Production Services provided the gear.

BALTIMORE, MD – 4Wall Entertainment Lighting provided eight Rogue R1 Spot fixtures from Chauvet Professional for LD Aaron Kovelman (aka Ronny RedRocks) and his design for the improv-prone funk/rock/electronic band, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong.

LAS VEGAS – John “Ozzie” Osborne of Ozterity Lighting teamed up with Scott McCowan, Chris Szabo, Jeff Melzer and Jason Mack to bring lighting looks to Sony’s PlayStation Experience, which drew gamers to the Sands Convention Center in December.  4Wall provided gear from Martin, Clay Paky, Robe, Vari-Lite and ETC to light close to 400,000 square feet of space, along with grandM2 consoles for control.

LAS VEGAS — On Nov. 22, 2014, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Usher’s “UR Experience” tour was in the house, the very night that the 2014 Parnelli Awards were staged in an adjacent venue. Kevin M. Mitchell, who also serves as producer/writer for the Parnelli Awards, was understandably absent from the Usher concert in Las Vegas, but still managed to cover the tour for the Feb. 2015 issue of PLSN. A number of equipment manufacturers, including Elation, TMB and GLP, have also noted how the tour served as a visual springboard of sorts, for gear ranging from Elation’s Sniper to TMB’s Solaris Mozart and GLP’s impression X4 S LED fixtures.

BOSTON — While Boston was in the middle of two blizzards and record-breaking snowfall, preparations were happening for the 50th Anniversary of Education First (EF). Producer Michael Wasserman (MPW) turned to Seabrook, NH-based Port Lighting Systems for an assist with the visuals for the multi-faceted celebration.
