Sam Hunt ‘Leaves The Lights’ To Bandit

NASHVILLE, TN – For Sam Hunt’s recent Lipstick Graffiti tour with lighting provided by Bandit Lites, designer Mark Steinwachs worked with production manager Bob Harmon and manager Brad Belanger to create powerful lighting looks using only one or two colors per song. Programming was provided by John Lucksinger. Bandit VP Mike Golden worked with Steinwachs and Bandit’s director of technical services Jake Tickle on the rig, which includes GLP X4S, Elation Cuepix Blinders, Chauvet Colordash Accents and Bandit GRN Washes.

Empire State Building’s Art-Inspired Light Show to Coincide with Whitney Museum’s Move Downtown

NEW YORK — On May 1, a light show crafted by LD Marc Brickman and inspired by Whitney Museum artwork from Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, Georgia O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper, among others, will bring attention to the opening of the new Whitney Museum of American Art. The new building, designed by Renzo Piano, is the white building in the foreground of this shot that includes the Empire State Building.

Livewire in Arizona Installs Elation Lighting, Video Gear

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Livewire, a 14,000 square foot live music venue that opened in the space formerly occupied by the EDM club Axis-Radius, is drawing new crowds with visual support from Elation lighting and LED video gear. Elation dealer Fyxx Entertainment supplied the venue with Elation Platinum Series moving heads and 4mm pixel pitch Elation EZ4 LED panels.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show Tours Europe with Entec-Supplied Lighting and Projection

MÜNSTER, Germany — For the European tour of The Australian Pink Floyd Show, LD Phil White’s design includes an Entec-supplied lighting rig with Clay Paky, Robe, Vari-Lite, i-Pix, Martin and ETC fixtures. The visual centerpiece is a five-meter diameter circular truss with a Christie/Green Hippo Grasshopper projection setup. Extras include a Tarm/Beam Burst laser show (with an assist from ER Productions) and various inflatable puppets. Tom Mumby is operating the show on the road.

Stage Collapse Injures 17 During Indiana High School Musical Production

WESTFIELD, IN — As students involved in an April 23 high school musical production joined each other near the end of the production, the auditorium stage gave way, injuring 17. Although one of the injured students who required hospital treatment had initially been listed as critical, school officials reported on April 24 that none of the injuries were life-threatening and most were “minor.” Local news reports also noted that a few of the students who had been treated at hospitals were released within hours. Indiana’s OSHA is investigating.
