Elation Sniper Adds a ‘Kick’ to U.S. Women Soccer’s 2015 World Cup Celebration

SANTA MONICA, CA – Santa Monica Airport’s Hanger 8 was the site for the U.S. women soccer team’s Kickoff Celebration for the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Kinetic Lighting (www.KineticLighting.com) provided lighting and rigging for the event, held in early December for FOX Sports 1 and Time Warner Cable, and turned to Elation Professional’s award-winning Sniper effect light to add a special kick to the celebration including a performance by rapper Flo Rida.

NEW YORK, NY – In the city that gave us Times Square, New Year’s Eve is just too big to be confined to one night. That is why RPM Presents created Big Week NYC, a week-long, bass-heavy EDM celebration, to ring in the New Year with a lineup of top DJs including Martin Garrix and Kaskade. ILDA Awards Laud Laser Achievers

LAS VEGAS, NV — The 2014 ILDA Conference, held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino Nov. 17-20, included an awards banquet Nov. 19 with multiple laser show categories and winners. The Fenning Award for Technical Achievement (pictured here) went to Pangolin for its Compact 506 optical scanner. Pangolin also noted that many of the other laser shows winning recognition at the awards ceremony made use of its laser display software and control hardware products.

LOS ANGELES — Coheed and Cambria, the American progressive rock band with concept albums chronicling the sci-fi Amory Wars in an imagined universe dubbed Heaven’s Fence, performed 25 shows last fall lit by Clearwing’s Michael “Greek” Hionis, the show’s LD/lighting director/programmer. The rig, controlled with a grandMA2 light and grandMA OnPC system, included a complement of Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20s and Sharpy fixtures. Clearwing Productions provide gear for the shows, most of which sold out, in two dozen U.S. cities and Toronto.

PEBBLE BEACH, CA – Calling the Pebble Beach Auctions an “automobile auction” is akin to describing a Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider as a mere “sports car.” The annual event, which has been part of the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance since 1990, is to the luxury auto world what the Cannes Film Festival is to the movie industry.  Featuring some of the more valuable automobiles in the world – a 1961 edition of the aforementioned Ferrari fetched over $15 million at this year’s auction – the five-day event draws celebrities like Jay Leno and A-List collectors from around the world.
