Alberta PAC Installs LED Rig Including ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr Fixtures

CAMROSE, Alberta, Canada – The Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre (PAC) is a 44,200-square-foot, multi-venue building. The venue earned a level-four Green Globe distinction for its energy-efficient building design and commitment to green technology before its doors even opened in October 2014. Christie Lites provided the venue with an LED lighting rig, including nearly 100 ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr luminaires. As the largest Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr installation in the world, the venue is able to save between $30,000 and $35,000 each year in energy costs from the lighting system alone. The venue is also using ETC’s Gio console for control.

Clay Paky Lights Up Austin City Limits Music Festival

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin City Limits Music Festival music showcase was also a showcase for Clay Paky lighting. In addition to “massive amounts” of Sharpy fixtures, eight A.leda B-EYE K20 fixtures were dedicated to each of two secondary headline stages and positioned in an upstage array across the rear truss. “There were no backdrops on these stages and, given the power situation, the B-EYEs were the perfect choice to fill the whole back picture.  They really blasted through everything else, and the guys who did the overnight programming had time to dig into the features and use the multi-array tricks that come out it,” said LD Seth Jackson.

Lighting Display at Morton Arboretum Includes Clay Paky Mythos Fixtures

LISLE, IL – The lighting setup for the annual display, Illumination: The Lights at The Morton Arboretum in suburban Chicago, included a new fixture this year: the recently-introduced Mythos from Clay Paky. The fixtures are mounted in Igloo domes and illuminate custom water features in the arboretum’s Meadow Lake.  “They have more punch and more functionality for the show, including the ability to zoom in and out and go even bigger with the prism effect,” noted Matt Pearlman, senior account executive with Intelligent Lighting Creations (ILC).

SUN VALLEY, CA – Pacific Coast Entertainment (PCE) provided lighting designer Jean-Yves Tessier with 12 of their GLP impression X4 LED fixtures to light 3-D Theatricals’ stage production of E.L. Doctorow’s classic book, Ragtime, at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton, CA. It marked the latest stage in a long partnership between PCE and GLP, both of which have taken root in the Los Angeles area.

Electrosonic Provides AV Support for “Beyond Rubik’s Cube” Exhibition

JERSEY CITY, NJ – An exhibition, Beyond Rubik’s Cube, opened at Liberty Science Center with audio-visual design, integration and installation by Electrosonic. Electrosonic was hired by exhibit fabricator Maltbie, a kubik Company, to take on the project designed by the Science Center’s Experience Services. The 7,000 square-foot exhibit, with 24 areas featuring AV support by Electrosonic, is intended to travel; after 11 months at Liberty Science Center, it will start a seven-year international road trip.
