NASHVILLE – For Thompson Square’s Just Feels Good tour, which features over 80 moving lights and a large configuration of HD video screens, LD Larry Foote has been using Jands’ Vista L5 console for control. Jeff Lavallee from Nashville-based lighting, rentals and production company 44 Designs also supported the tour looks. The setup includes a canopy of video screens and moving lights controlled by ArKaos MediaMaster Pro.

MIDDLETOWN, WI – ETC recently updated its Eos family of lighting control products with expanded control outputs, new portable controllers, lowered pricing and a new software package.

ENID, OK — Emmanuel Baptist Church installed 88 elektraLite Dazer RGB fixtures as part of a larger remodel project designed and built by Paragon 360 out of Springfield, MO. Ron Robertson, chief design officer of Paragon 360, credited the RGB fixtures for ample light output and an “even field of coverage.”

LAS VEGAS – For the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand on Sept. 13, Frank Gatto & Associates of Boca Raton, FL used an Avolites Sapphire Touch console running Titan software to control the lighting rig. Lighting director Jason Eible credited the desk for its playback workspace window and other useful features.

NEW YORK — Jeremy Lechterman of Fragment Nine specified Robe CycFX 8 moving LED battens and Robe Pointes for his design for Alt-J’s recent and ongoing performances in support of their album, This is All Yours.

LAS VEGAS – Life Nightclub at the SLS Hotel and Casino on the north end of the Strip opened recently with a design from Stephen Lieberman and SJ Lighting and lighting from lighting from Elation Professional. The 1,800-capacity club’s “wall of destruction,” a key focal point, is equipped with Elation Platinum Beam 5Rs, Rayzor Q12 Zoom wash lights, Event Bars, Cuepix Strip WW blinders and Protron LED Strobes.

NEW YORK — For an eighth consecutive year, designer David Grill was brought on board to light one of the world’s most prestigious political gatherings, the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting.  He once again turned to 4Wall for lighting gear including Martin MAC Auras and ETC Source Four Series 2 Lustr LEDs.

NASHVILLE – More than doubling the registration total from its first year in 2011, the 2014 Touring Career Workshop (TCW), held in Nashville Nov. 24, was the busiest to date. In addition to a successful turnout for the event, led by LD/programmers Erik Parker and Chris Lisle (pictured here, L-R), TCW 2014 collected significant donations for their charitable partner, the Oasis Center, and presented the “Sammy Old Skool” Award, in memory of production professional Sam Harden.

NASHVILLE — Chris Reade is back on the road with his Jands Vista T2, S1 and M1 consoles, controlling an even more technically ambitious rig for the latest tour by Platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Dierks Bentley. The tour is in support of the artist’s eighth album release, Riser.

ALBANY, NY — Heavy metal band Killswitch Engage joined All That Remains, Death Ray Vision and City of Homes for a three-date mini tour on Oct. 30, 31 and Nov. 1 in Sayreville, NJ, Worcester, MA and Albany NY. Dubbed Monster’s Mosh, the shows featured a design from LD Darragh Guiney that included Chauvet Professional LED video panels, moving lights and Vesuvio RGBA foggers supplied by JDI Productions.
