ORLANDO – Firestone Live, a 20,000 square foot venue that rose to prominence in the 1990s, recently completed an extensive remodeling that lowered the club’s stage and included a new trussing rig to expand the space available for the overhead lighting system. Working with a design from Impulse Creative Group, Complete Production Resources equipped the venue with sixteen Legend 412 RGBW LED moving washes, eight Q-Wash 436Z LED RGBW moving washes, eight Legend 330SR Spot moving fixtures, eight COLORado 1-Tri Tour par-style fixtures and one Amhaze II water-based haze machine.  A grandMA on a PC with a fader wing controls the rig.

It included Martin MAC 2000 Profiles and Washes, Coemar Infinity washes, Chauvet Professional Legend 230SR Beams, Color Kinetics iW Blasts, GRN Par 64 and GRN washes and two grandaMA 1 full consoles for control.

LAS VEGAS — Parnelli Week is here! The Parnelli Classic Golf Tournament tees off bright and early Thursday morning, Nov. 20 at Siena Golf Club in Las Vegas with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. sharp (onsite registration is even earlier, 6:30 am). It’s followed by the Parnelli Awards ceremony at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip. That begins Saturday, Nov. 22 with a 7 p.m. cocktail reception followed by the Awards Gala at 8 p.m. Tickets for both events can still be purchased online, but the virtual ticket window for both events closes Wednesday, Nov. 19 at noon Pacific time.

TAMPA, FL — Jerry Freed, founder of Gator Cases, died Nov. 13, 2014 after a bout with cancer. He was 74. Freed had been an entrepreneur and innovator in the audio and MI industries before launching Gator Cases with his daughter Crystal Morris here in 2000.

PALM DESERT, CA — For the McCallum Theatre, a 1,100-seat venue which opened here in 1988, production and lighting director Keith Smith upgraded the lighting system with 14 Vari-Lite VL4000 fixtures from 4Wall Entertainment Lighting.

NASHVILLE, TN — The fourth annual Touring Career Workshop, a free-to-attend event spearheaded by LD Chris Lisle and lighting director Erik Parker to provide information and resources to those pursuing a career on the road, is set for Nov. 19 at Soundcheck Nashville. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 740 Cowan Street, Nashville, TN 37207.  A networking mixer follows.

MILFORD, OH — The First Baptist Church here turned to Ken Patterson of A Tennessee Lighting Company for a lighting upgrade that centered on LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional. The church installed 40 COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour par-style fixtures, eight Ovation E-190WW LED ellipsoidals and 20 COLORdash Accent RGBW LED fixtures for accent lighting.
