LAS VEGAS — Micah Otano and Jason Scoppa worked with PRG recently to bring the vibe of the Sayers Club in Hollywood, CA to Las Vegas’ newly opened SLS Casino, on the site of the former Sahara at the northern end of the Strip. For the grand opening, which featured rock legend Lenny Kravitz, PRG provided Chauvet Professional’s ÉPIX Strip 2.0 and Bar 2.0 fixtures.

VAN NUYS, CA — Ed Pink Racing Engines, an auto racing engine building, rebuilding, testing, design and development facility based here, updated their previous lighting system with 13 LED high-bay luminaires fro LEDtronics. The new system, comparably brigh to the one it replaced, uses only a fraction of the energy. MIAMI — For a unique entertainment experience called H2Hombre: Brave The Elements, presented at the Ziff Ballet Opera House at Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center, Everlast Productions of Dania Beach, FL provided 70 COLORado 4 IP Quad-Color LED linear bars and 16 Q-Wash moving yoke LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden — LumenRadio named Lars Fabian Paape to the company’s R&D team. Paape, who founded his own consulting company in 1998 and has worked ever since in the scientific field of mass spectrometry developing data evaluation algorithms for Thermo Fisher Scientific, will now serve as LumenRadio’s senior research engineer.

LOS ANGELES — Jason Aldean’s 2014 Burn It Down tour rig includes 165 Solaris LED 16×1 fixtures. LD Mike Swinford credited the fixtures for their output, individual LED “pixel” control and overall performance.

LOS ANGELES – When LD Brock Hogan designed lighting for the recent co-headlining Matt Nathanson and Gavin Degraw tour, he specified Robe ROBIN LEDWash 600s as the main stage washes. For Gavin Degraw’s performance, the LEDWashes and other fixtures could be used as impressive beam effects. Although it meant more challenging conditions for lighting, restricting the smoke helped guarantee that both artists had a completely different aesthetic for their respective performances … while sharing the same lighting rig.

PERSHING COUNTY, NV – Art cars are a favorite feature of the annual Burning Man festival, and W-DMX made it possible for a series of art cars, bedazzled in light, to move through the festival with control coming from a moving stage. Ryan Tucknott of Walter Productions explained, “We transmitted the DMX signal and received it on all of our vehicles using 8db high-gain antennas. The system worked flawlessly last year with our four vehicles so we added to the fleet this year.”
