Sydney New Year Celebrations Include Dynamic “Field of Dreams” Lighting Design with 56 Astera Titan Tubes

SYDNEY – LD Hugh Taranto lit artists performing on the Sydney Stage for the 2020-21 Australian Broadcasting Corporation New Year’s Eve broadcast. Taranto and the team from lighting vendor Chameleon Touring Systems made use of 56 vertical Astera Titan Tubes to create a dynamic and immersive “field of dreams” light display for the production.

In Memoriam: Marco Bartolini

ITALY – Robe announced that Marco Bartolini, who joined Robe in 2004 and has led Robe’s Italian distributor, RM Multimedia, since 2007, died Feb. 10 after a short battle with cancer. Earlier in his career, he had worked with other notable industry brands and companies including SGM. “His kindness, generosity, affable personality, and laid-back humor touched everyone he met,” the company noted.

ADJ Moving Heads Provide Versatile Lighting System for Mall in Denmark

COPENHAGEN – A shopping center in a Copenhagen suburb has installed 30 ADJ LED-powered moving head fixtures to provide a flexible lighting system that can be used both for special events and general ambient looks. Mounted to the high ceiling of the mall’s large atrium, the fixtures have been used to light an indoor ice rink and have won raves from the shopping center’s management.

Prolights Fixtures Light Up Landmarks in Italy for World NTD Day

ROME – On Jan. 30, more than 50 landmarks in 25 countries around the world were lit to draw attention to the second annual World NTD Day and the progress being made against Neglected Tropical Diseases. A total of six landmarks were lit up in Italy, including the Colosseum in Rome, which was switched on at 5:30 p.m. and stayed bright until midnight.
