SEOUL—Hansam System, Co., Ltd used Martin fixtures to light Lotte World Tower, South Korea’s tallest skyscraper and the fifth tallest building in the world. Featuring 123 floors, Lotte World Tower is home to a wide range of facilities and public spaces, including business offices, private residences, a luxury hotel, a mega mall, a cinema, an aquarium, a concert hall and a large observation deck. The building owners hired Hansam System, Co. and lighting consultants EOS SLD and Nikennomura to design an ambitious lighting solution that would visually enhance the architecture of the building’s roof, observatory ticketing area and grand ballroom.

KILLARNEY, Ireland — Ireland’s largest events venue outside of Dublin, the INEC Killarney, has recently purchased an Avolites Arena console as part of a major upgrade to the venue’s house lighting rig and control system. The sale of the British manufacturer’s largest and latest lighting console was made by Avolites’ accredited UK reseller A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET). AC-ET worked with the INEC Killarney to supply the new house rig and control network.

ANTWERP, BE – Belgian creative visual design practice Painting with Light was commissioned to design and install lighting and video at the new 6000 square meter Comics Station Antwerp indoor theme park, located in the city’s famous central station complex. The Painting with Light team collaborated closely with Panasonic Belgium on the AV elements and fully specified the lighting elements of the project, which involved nearly 1300 fixtures being used to illuminate over 60 attractions. These are spread across four stories and six zoned entertainment areas.

HAMILTON, New Zealand – The Bush Doof festivals have a long tradition of cultivating and engaging a collective social conscience through music. The Road Trip to Bush Doof is one of the most popular contemporary incarnations of this tradition. Serving up a sizzling variety of electronic and bass music parties, the event has built up a large and loyal following. For this year’s event, which featured international heavyweight drum and bass DJs such as KOVEN and Kadington Live, organizers decided to up the production with an upgraded visual spectacle. To this end, local production specialists Tron Audio specified CHAUVET DJ Intimidator Hybrid 140SR moving heads for the festival.

AMSTERDAM – Superstar DJ Armin van Buuren played two solo shows at the Amsterdam ArenA and Dutch lighting creative Art of Light relied on a Hippotizer Karst Media Server to control a series of LED setups during the show. Closing his latest ‘Armin Only’ performance concept at the Amsterdam ArenA, with the biggest show that he has ever done, Armin van Buuren became the first DJ to stage a solo show at the famous venue. The ‘Armin Only’ show debuted in 2005 and the latest edition is bigger than ever, letting the Dutch DJ play longer sets while also exploring his artistic side.

NETHERLANDS – An Avolites Arena console was recently used as part of an extensive Avolites lighting control network for Dutch rock giants Kensington, at Pinkpop, the world’s longest-running pop festival, in Landgraaf, Netherlands. The Arena console was supplied by Belgium-based rental company, Phlippo, to the band’s lighting designer Jop Kuipers. Fairlight supplied two Titan Network Processors (TNP) and an Optical Titan Network Switch (TNS), whilst Kuipers brought in his personal Titan Mobile console as backup.
