GOURDON, France – Authorities investigating the July 19 death of Barbara Weldens while performing at the Festival Leo Ferre held at the Church of Notre Dame des Cordeliers cited an autopsy that confirmed electrocution as the cause of death. LONDON – Jeremy Lechterman and Jackson Gallagher of production design and creative direction partnership FragmentNine selected the dense light beams of the Claypaky Mythos2 to add texture to their lighting design for Mercury Prize-winning indie rock band alt-J in their first arena show of 2017, held at The O2 Arena in London. The design was an upscaled version of the production’s touring lighting design, also by FragmentNine, for The O2 Arena’s 10th anniversary showcase. NYC – It’s always exciting to be involved in a new event and the positive buzz, energy and hashtags spread as infectiously as the groove of the very first HRBR Project shows, a new music venue presented by RPM on Governor’s Island in New York Harbor. Kevin Mignone, owner of KM Productions, the company charged with producing the multi-week event, was determined to deliver the biggest and boldest show possible for the new outdoor space and brought on long-time collaborator, Mike Gionfriddo of Total Production Design (TPD), as the lighting designer to create a design with maximum impact.
NETHERLANDS – The newly built and inaugurated Atlas Theatre in Emmen, Netherlands is a multifunctional performance space in the heart of the city and part of a 250 million euro development. In addition to the two Atlas auditoriums – with capacities of 822 and 300 – the complex also includes a full convention center, catering outlets, offices and is an access point for the Wildlands Adventure Zoo … and Robe moving lights!
