AMSTERDAM, – Armin van Buuren turned the tables on 12 and 13 May during his show ‘The Best of Armin Only’ in the Johan Cruijff Arena. For the second time in 6 months, InventDesign was the preferred party to cater the LEDs for yet another spectacular lightshow. Last October, the company catered the lights for the Amsterdam Music Festival, which also took place in the Johan Cruijff Arena. The special lightdesign, which was designed by 250K for the show, didn’t stop with an impressive stage. InventDesign provided the full length and width of the Johan Cruijff Arena with vertical and horizontal pendant LED strips, with the shortest vertical variations being at least 8 meters long.
LONDON – The new Cargo late-night bar and club venue in London has been drawing crowds with a Banksy graffiti art-filled courtyard and multifaceted light show looks from a number of Chauvet Professional and Chauvet DJ fixtures installed by Halo Lighting.

MIDDLE EAST – Approaching the end of a very busy season in the Middle East, there was one more important event that the events industry in the region would be looking forward to – MEEA17. There was a sense of excitement that could be felt across the industry in the lead up to the awards ceremony this time, as everyone was aware that it would have to take something really special to break through the competition in every award category.
LONDON – Award winning lighting designer Paul Pyant returned to London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) to light a production of the Steven Sondheim classic, A Little Night Music directed by Edward Kemp and staged at RADA’s Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre in central London. Robe enjoy a close ongoing working relationship with RADA, making their latest technologies available for students to use across the three main venues. Paul’s design for this production utilized Robe’s DL7S LED profiles and the new Spiider LED wash beam moving lights, together with other moving and conventional fixtures.

EUROPE – Popular Belgian / Dutch girlband K3 are on the road again for an extensive live schedule through 2017 reaching out to their young and enthusiastic fanbase … with a completely new lighting and video design originated by Luc Peumans of Genk-based creative practice, Painting with Light. This is the first full tour with the ‘new’ K3, since a TV competition staged last year found three new faces to take over from the previous band members, two of whom had been part of the foundation of the K3 phenomenon in 1998!
