Robert Juliat to Feature Oz and Alice LED Followspots, Other New Products in Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Germany — Robert Juliat is building upon the success of Roxie, its first LED followspot, with Oz and Alice LED followspot models (pictured here) at Prolight + Sound 2017. Along with other new fixtures, the company will also unveil its new SpotMe technology at PL+S 2017. Designed for use with RJ’s Compact and Grand ranges of followspots, SpotMe promises to shine the light on performers in a “smart, progressive way.”

U.K.’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Show Networking Setup Includes ProPlex IQ

LONDON — To meet the production demands of ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ the crew has been using a network of data control that connects two consoles and a media server to the lighting and video elements on the set. The setup also includes ProPlex’s IQ Two 1616 (pictured here), according to Mark Newell, the show’s lighting gaffer and chief systems tech, helping the crew to execute a lighting design by Mark Kenyon.

Avolites to Feature Ai v10, Titan v10.1 at PL+S 2017

FRANKFURT, Germany – Avolites will launch two software updates and showcase its new developments in lighting and video integration at this year’s Prolight + Sound 2017 in Frankfurt. Highlights include the company’s Ai v10 media server software, developed through real-world testing, and the latest Titan update, v10.1, with a plethora of end user-centric new features. Avolites will be in Hall 3 Level 0 Stand E80 throughout the four-day event.

ZAKOPANE, Poland – Standing out against a giant fireworks display isn’t easy, but Adam Tyszka and Polish team from Aram and TVP accomplished this feat in stunning fashion recently with help from a collection of Chauvet Professional STRIKE 1 Fixtures supplies by LTT.  Tasked with lighting a massive televised celebration and concert in central Zakopane – close to Kraków, the designer and his team drew upon the powerful output of the warm white LED fixtures to accent the center of a large stage that hosted musical performances set against a dazzling pyrotechnics display.

Three-Day Dragonland Festival in Hong Kong Lit with Rig Including GLP X4 LED Fixtures

HONG KONG – A new three-day music festival, Dragonland, made its debut on the Hong Kong event scene recently. Billed as the region’s first outdoor festival to combine pop with EDM, it joins Clockenflap as the only large-scale event of its kind in Hong Kong. Promoted by Playerone, a crowd of 15,000 people per day had been estimated, and in terms of production AHM Engineering supplied 20 of GLP’s award-winning X4 Bar 10 battens and 90 impression X4, as one of the mainstays of the stage set.

Swarovski Crystal World Festival of Light Lit with Claypaky Fixtures

WATTENS, Austria – LD Björn Hermann used 60 Claypaky Mythos2 and 20 Claypaky Supersharpy2 fixtures to deliver two large light sculptures as part of global crystal producer Swarovski’s Festival of Light, hosted at their 17-acre fantasy park Swarovski Kristallwelten (Crystal Worlds) in Wattens, Austria. Lead creative agency for Festival of Light was Berlin-based international creative production company StudioNOW, who originated the project’s concept.

LONDON – Colour Sound Experiment supplied a lighting and video floor package for the latest run of live shows by talented music producer Bonobo (Simon Green), with a brand new lighting look for the stage designed by Will Thomas.The tour is in support of Bonobo’s recent UK Top 5 album, “Migration”, released in January on independent label Ninja Tune Records. Will Thomas has previously worked on Bonobo’s extensive “Black Sands” and ‘The North Borders” tours, which culminated at the end of 2014 with a sellout show at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Estonian National Museum Equipped with Robe Fixtures

TARTU, Estonia – The brand new Eesti Rahva Muuseum (Estonian National Museum) in Tartu has recently opened in a fabulous new single story state-of-the-art 350 metre long architectural masterpiece resembling a portion of a runway lifting upwards …  built on the former Raadi Air Base just outside the cultural hub and second city of Tartu, and near to the site of the original Muuseum at Raadi Manor. Around 100 x Robe LED fixtures – a mix of DL4S Profiles, DL4X Spots, LEDBeam 1000s and CycFX 8s have been specified and supplied for the Muuseum’s three main performance, event and conference spaces.

VIENNA – Gerhard Scherer is a happy man since 24 x Robe DL7S Profiles and DL4S Profiles – 12 of each fixture – have been installed at the Theater Akzent Theatre in Vienna … a busy producing and receiving house located in the Wieden district of Austria’s capital city, famous for its culture and charm. Head of lighting Gerhard has been working at Akzent since it was founded in 1989 in the grounds of the former Palais Nathaniel Rothschild. Its postmodern architecture was designed by Rudolf Jarosch and it offers a 455 seat main house, a studio that can accommodate 80 people and a 380 capacity event space.
