CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA – Elite Event Technology in Canberra provided a full turnkey design and technical production solution for Canberra’s 2016 FASHFEST extravaganza, staged at the National Convention Centre.The lighting rig for the main show space was designed by Darren Russell who needed a flexible and versatile range of fixtures to help deliver the high expectations of everyone involved, so he based this around Robe moving lights – BMFLs, Pointes and LEDWashes – plus a selection of conventionals.

‘Shahrazad’ Lit with Robe Fixtures

AMSTERDAM – LD Aaron Copp’s lighting desing for the new production of Shahrazad, choreographed by Jonah Bokaer for the Royal Ballet of Flanders (whose Artistic Director is Olivier Award winning Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui) included 34 Robe CycFX 8 fixtures. The production finished its run at the Opera Vlaanderen in Ghent on Oct. 30 2016 and subsequently played in Antwerp, Amsterdam and several other European cities.

LONDON – Chase & Status treated fans with a short end of year tour which revealed snapshots of material from their forthcoming studio album – due for release in 2017 – as well as belting out some of their classics. Lighting and set designer Andy Hurst faced the challenge of designing A, B and C variations of a rig that would fit into a selection of Academies plus a sold-out show at London’s Ally Pally, where they raised the roof delivering a full-throttle collage of music and visual presentation matching their intense energy and attitude.

BRIGHTON, U.K. – Production designers James Scott and Louis Oliver of Okulus used Claypaky’s Scenius Spot as part of their design for 2016 Brit award-winner Jack Garratt’s UK autumn tour, following the release of the multi-instrumentalist’s debut album ‘Phase’. Okulus, which has worked for the likes of Zac Brown Band, Chvrches and Bring Me The Horizon, specified 20 of the new moving head fixtures from UK rental operation Siyan Ltd.

Lush Cosmetics Event in London Lit with Chauvet Professional Fixtures

LONDON – Lush Cosmetics unveiled its 2016 Winter Collection with its Creative Showcase 2016, an event at London’s Tobacco Docks. Featuring live music along with the presentation of new products, the event’s organizers turned to Presentation Design Services (PDS) for a visual assist. PDS used 16 Rogue R1 Spot and Beam fixtures, 32 WELL Fit units and 72 ÉPIX Strip Tour linear fixtures from Chauvet Professional.
