BMFLs Help Relaunch Colosseum in Rome

ROME – The Colosseum in Rome – world famous heritage site and one of Italy’s most popular tourist attractions – was originally constructed in 70 – 80 AD and is the largest amphitheater ever built. This summer it was reopened after three years of extensive refurbishments – the first in its history. The momentous occasion involved a high profile gala event. A special classical program was played by the Accademia Teatro alla Scala conducted by Zubin Mehta, and the Colosseum was lit by lighting designer Giancarlo Toscani who utilized twenty Robe BMFL WashBeams for this unique occasion.

South Africa’s ‘Groot for the Classics’ Production Lit with Robe Fixtures

PRETORIA, South Africa – Classics is Groot is a new musical performance extravaganza staged at the 6,500 capacity Moreleta Auditorium in Pretoria, South Africa, produced by the same creative team from Coleske Artists who deliver the well-received Afrikaans is Groot production each year. The full technical production  – lighting, sound, video, staging and  rigging – was supplied by MGG, project managed by Denzil Smith. LD Joshua Cutts of Visual Frontier specified several types of Robe moving lights including BMFL Blades and WashBeams.

MEXICO CITY – A recent life size replica of the Sistine Chapel was built in the heart of Mexico City adjacent to the “Monumento a la Revolución” (Monument to the Revolution). UK – Event technical production solution specialist PR Live supplied an impressive large format projection on the side of a large house as the finale for an exclusive private party in the UK. The PR Live crew used a combination of their new d3 server and six Christie 20K high powered projectors for this project. PR Live’s Dave Gillett led the team, designed the projection system and applied his experience in the specialist area of projection mapping which caught guest’s attention as they exited a big marquee that was erected in the garden for the event.
