BRISTOL, U.K. — Established in 2001, Forest Live is an independent concert series, promoted by the U.K.’s Forestry Commission. Hosted within seven forest locations, which include Westonbirt Arboretum, Thetford Forest, Dalby Forest and Mansfield Sherwood Pines Forest Park. Serious Stages has been awarded an extended three-year contract to supply staging and ancillary structures to Forest Live. GLOUCESTER, U.K. – Colour Sound Experiment supplied lighting equipment to creative visual design specialist Mirrad for three stages at the 2016 Barn on the Farm festival, staged in the Over Farm just outside Gloucester. The seventh Barn on the Farm was headlined by Oh Wonder and Jack Garrett and this year the Main Stage was ensconced in a brand new cattle shelter for the first time.

LONDON — HSL supplied lighting and rigging equipment and crew for the U.K. leg of U.S. rock band Heart. The tour leg kicked off with a show pairing the veteran rockers, whose career spans five decades, with the 67-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) at Royal Albert Hall. That show was also filmed for release as a live DVD.

GLASGOW, Scotland – The 600-seat venue housing the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), which opened in Glasgow late last year, has been equipped with 130+ Chroma-Q Inspire LED house lights. A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) worked with the venue’s management on the project.

SANTIAGO, Chile – On May 22, 2,357 soccer players (most of them amateurs) played a match that lasted 120 hours, a feat topping the official Guinness record of 105 continuous hours that had been set last year in Scotland. (The new record, at presstime, had not yet been confirmed by Guinness officials). The teams were reportedly divided into “blue” and “white” teams, with white beating blue by a score of 505 to 504. A staged performance, lit with Clay Paky gear, took place at he Bicentenario de la Florida stadium in Santiago as well. Real Audio Sistemas supported the production needs for that show.

BOLOGNA, Italy — For Benassi & Friends, a major dance event led by DJ Benny Benassi that coincides with the Motor Show in Bologna, Italy, LD Jerry R. Romani lit Bologna Exhibition Centre’s Hall 36 with Clay Paky Sharpys and A.LEDA B-EYE K10 fixtures. The units were rigged on a hanging structure consisting of straight battens placed at different heights.

ITALY – The Champions League final in Milan was not just a sporting event for soccer fans. During the UEFA Champions Festival 2016, from 26 to 29 May, there was a whole host of entertainment, including meetings, exhibitions, shows and events. There was everything you can imagine before the final kick-off at San Siro.  The Opening Ceremony took place on the evening of 26 May with a gala event in which some great past champions also took part. During the Champions Festival evening shows, Clay Paky took the field with its lights: 28 Alpha Beam 300s and 15 Alpha Spot HPE 700s.

TAIWAN – Looking for a recognized brand to reflect the company’s high quality reputation, Heng Mao selected Prolyte to supply B100RV truss for its expanding rigging department. Heng Mao is one of the main players for rental of truss constructions and hardware integration in the event and touring industry in Taiwan. With a wish to grow and further expand their business, they were looking to invest in truss with a high loading capacity for their rigging department.

DUISBURG, Germany — For puppet comic Sascha Grammel, whose latest show debuted early this year and has since been broadcast from the Theater am Marientor in Duisburg, Germany,  P2 Veranstaltungstechnik has been providing a rig centered on Clay Paky fixtures. The setup includes 16 Clay Paky B-EYE K10 Easy units and 54 Clay Paky B-EYE K20s, with one grandMA2 light and two grandMA2 full-size lighting desks with two MA plus MK2 Video Processing Units (VPUs) and two MA Network Processing Units (NPUs) for control.

EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands – For Dutch performer Guus Meeuwis’s four sold-out show at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, LD  Marco Driessen from creative lighting and visual design practice, The Art of Light used 360 Robe moving lights. The fixtures lit up the set designed by Ronald van den Bersselaar of BEEO.

ESTORIL, Portugal — For the rollout of Pirelli’s latest tire offerings, Newtonlab’s Lucio Ferreira turned to LD Giovanni Pinna for a lighting design assist. The event’s lighting, staged at the race track in Estoril, Portugal, included Clay Paky’s bright, sharp and quick Sharpy fixtures. Musical Box VR provided the gear.

WELLINGTON, NZ – When the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo came to the Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand in February 2016, production supplier, MJF Lighting decided the scale of the production warranted new followspots and invested in four Robert Juliat Merlin 2500W HMI followspots specifically for the spectacular show.
