BRISBANE, Australia – In August last year, the Brisbane Powerhouse, an arts venue located on the premises of a former powerhouse, upgraded their lighting data distribution system with the installation of a Cat-6 network with Pathport nodes and Pathport manager software. Nine Pathport C-series nodes were installed around the venue where they convert lighting data that has been distributed over the Cat-6 network to DMX. Previously the venue had two cabled universes of DMX and if they were required to expand beyond that, extra cables and infrastructure had to be installed which very time was consuming.

SOUTHAMPTON, U.K. – GLS Lighting, part of the HSL Group family, has made a significant investment, purchasing more than 200 new fixtures from German Lighting Products (GLP). The new equipment will be based at and available from GLS’s facility (about one hour from London) and will also be available from all the HSL Equipment Banks across the UK and Ireland, including Blackburn, Belfast and Dublin, in addition to Southampton.

VERONA, Italy – A special fifth anniversary concert by Croatian standouts 2Cellos took place at the Verona Arena in Italy. AVORIAZ, France – Fineline supplied lighting for two venues, the Main Stage and Club XX, at the six-day 2016 Snowboxx Festival. Staged in the French Alps, the event now in its fourth year. A week of activities at the Avoriaz ski resort culminates in three days of music in an intimate 4,000 capacity boutique festival for lovers of snow sports, dance music and great vibes. 2016 was the first year that Fineline has been involved as a technical supplier. Stu England designed the rigs for both areas, which were based on being flexible to give all the artists as many options as possible for their sets to look individual and interesting.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland — More than 3,500 revelers partied ’til the small hours at for the legendary dance event Cream Tours at Belfast’s T13 warehouse on Saturday, April 30. Event promoter Notorious Parties welcomed the return of the iconic night with its cast of DJing elite including; dance music giant John O’Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Will Atkinson, Standerwick, Agnelli and Nelson and Anthony Probyn. Event lighting designer John McGuinness of Just Lite Productions looked after the lighting for the event. The control setup included Avolites’ Sapphire Touch, Tiger Touch II and Fader Wing, Quartz, Ai Infinity media server and ART2000 48″ Dimmer racks.

LEICESTERSHIRE, U.K. – More than 100 bands performed on Serious Stages in front of 80,000 rock fans, as Serious supplied staging and ancillary structures to Download Festival, which was held in Leicestershire from June 10-12.
