Maritime Museum in Australia Serves as Canvas for Vivid Sydney Light Show

SYDNEY – As part of this year’s Vivid Sydney light festival, the Australia Museum’s rooftop was once again a big canvas for a lightshow. As part of the setup, Fusion Entertainment were responsible to light up the area around the museum – Paul Walton, managing director of Fusion – collaborated with Show Technology in Australia, and chose ShowPro HEX 18 LED Pars and ShowPro EX36 LED Floods, both IP rated units.

Popular Russian Singer Valery Meladze Lit with Martin Fixtures

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — Ledovy Dvorets arena recently held the concert by popular Russian musician, Valery Meladze. The show, “Half a Hundred,” coincided with the singer’s 50th birthday and depicted his creative development throughout the years. The lighting design of the concert was completely developed and implemented by the team at St. Petersburg-based Euroshow, one of Russia’s largest lighting rental companies. The lighting featured a wide selection of Martin fixtures, including Atomic 3000 LED, six MAC Viper Profiles, numerous MAC 2000 Wash XBs, 18 MAC Auras and more.

Dreamedia Events in Northern Australia Stocks Up on Clay Paky Gear

DARWIN, Australia – Darwin’s Dreamedia Events now has a Clay Paky package that includes eight Sharpys, eight A.leda B-EYE K20s and eight Mythos fixtures. Managing director Chris O’Brien comments that he was first drawn to Clay Paky because the brand had a reputation for robustness and reliability. “Up here in the Northern Territory all technology is up against the elements,” he said. “You really have to thoroughly research for fixtures that will survive in 100% humidity, be able to function under extreme dust, be easy to clean and are light in weight.”

The company was incorporated by Mr Wallace Greig on June 21, 1976 as McCormack Greig Company, initially as a worldwide distributor for GE Lighting. The company was renamed in 1980 to MGC Lamps Ltd and has recently rebranded as MGC Lighting Group. Initially MGC distributed Stage/Studio lamps, however it now covers many area of specialist lighting including Healthcare, Purification, Airfield and Stage/Studio. ANTWERP, Belgium – Belgian engineering specialist WIcreations designed and supplied motion control, customized staging and hardware / infrastructure for Russian singer Philipp Kirkorov’s recent tour – “I” (“Я”) – which features an elaborate show design by creative director Franco Dragone. WI has previously worked with Dragone on several projects, explains project manager Koen Peeters, and for this one, the show creators turned to them to provide solutions for several staging conundrums, all of which had to be delivered in an extremely short time frame.

Ampco Flashlight Adds Robe DL7S and LEDBeam 1000s to Rental Inventory

UTRECHT, The Netherlands —Ampco Flashlight Rental BV (AFR) has made a another substantial investment in Robe moving lights. The production and rental company purchased 80 DL7S Profile LED fixtures and 80 LEDBeam 1000s. The new order was delivered via Robe’s Benelux distributor, Controllux, and the lights have been busy ever since on a wide variety of projects, from TV shows to major live events. 30th Annual Music Competition in Malaysia Lit with Clay Paky Gear

SHAH ALAM, Malaysia — Anugerah Juara Lagu 30, the 30th annual “Champion of Songs” awards show, was staged Jan. 24, 2016 at the Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam. Malaysia’s TV3 first launched the annual singing competition in 1986. Acoustic & Lighting provided Clay Paky fixtures for the event. The rig included 70 Sharpys, 20 Clay Paky A.leda B-EYE K20s (pictured here), 22 Alpha Wash 1500s and 10 Alpha Spot HPE 1500s.
