MILTON KEYNES, U.K.––Impact Production Services (IPS) has added more than 100 lighting fixtures from Martin by Harman to its rental stock, including upgrading all existing MAC Auras to the enhanced XB edition. The significant investment also included the addition of the first Moving Head LED Profile fixture to the IPS inventory in the form of the MAC Quantum Profile. Completing IPS’s new line-up is the Atomic 3000 LED Strobe, combining the power of the traditional strobe with the flexibility of an LED product and the backlight of an Aura.

THE HAGUE – The Koninklijke Schouwburg, or Royal Theatre, in The Hague has recently taken stock of a large number of Robert Juliat 614SX 1200W tungsten profile lanterns, supplied by Robert Juliat’s project partner for the Netherlands, Controllux, in a major refreshment of its lighting inventory.

MEXICO CITY – Hermes Music México, authorized dealer for Wireless Solution in Mexico, recently completed an architectural lighting project in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City. Hermes supplied PR Lighting fixtures to light up Paragon Tower, a 151m high hotel, all with LED sources. Ricardo Segura de la Cruz, lighting specialist for Hermes, used WhiteBox F-1 G4S series units, which complemented PR Lighting’s capability to use W-DMX, for control.

QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand – Vocal trio Sol3 Mio recently completed a tour of their native New Zealand in February and March in support of their album, On Another Note. LD Joel Stanners lit the trio using 16 Robe BMFL Spots as the main hard edged fixtures. These were supplied by Auckland, New Zealand-based lighting and production rental company Oceania.

LONDON – White Light provided an AV assist for DevWeek, a software developers conference held April 18 to 22 at Central Hall Westminster near the center of London.  White Light was responsible for providing the lighting, audio and video support for any event taking place in Central Hall Westminster’s Great Hall.

SYDNEY – Chameleon Touring Systems added Solaris Flares from TMB to their inventory of gear for clients in Australia. The RGBW LED fixtures were chosen in part for their versatility (they can wash, blind and strobe) and performance specs (only about 1000 watts of LED generating more than 30,000 lumens of output at a 1200Hz refresh rate).

LONDON – Show designer Bryan Leitch and lighting director Jamie Thompson from creative visual design specialist Mirrad chose more than 120 Robe moving lights among other fixtures supplied by Colour Sound Experiment to light YesLive 2016, a an awards event with live music performances staged at the London Roundhouse. The annual YesLive show helps inspire 15 to 17 year-olds to get involved in activities via the National Citizen Service (NCS) initiative.

ZHAOQING CITY, China – At the recent ZhaoQing Dinghushan Music Festival in the province of Guangdong, China, Ruisheng Lighting & Audio provided GLP X4, X4 L and X4 Bar 20 fixtures, along with other gear, to light headliner Sun Nan and other performers, including Jordan Chan (Chan Siu-Chun). Ruisheng Light & Audio also distributes GLP fixtures for the Germany-based lighting manufacturer.

TOKYO – For post punk electronic rock band New Order’s current tour, in support of their 10th album, Music Complete, released last fall, LD Andy Liddle provided a lighting design that spec’ed 16  Robe BMFL Spots as the backbone of the lighting rig. The BMFLs and other moving lights are controlled via an Avolites Arena console.

LUSAIL, Qatar — Lusail Sports Arena in Lusail, Qatar, is using the Riedel MediorNet real-time media network and RockNet real-time audio network to simplify management of numerous signals throughout the venue. Built to host matches of the 2015 World Men’s Handball Championship, the 15,300-capacity indoor sports arena leverages the Riedel fiber networks to reduce the overall volume of cabling required and to make a variety of signals available as needed to support live events.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Ampere, a Cape Town-based rental and technical production company, invested in Robe Pointe moving lights, adding eight fixtures to their rental inventory. The crew is pictured here with the new Robe fixtures.

ANTWERP, Belgium – A show design team from Painting with Light, led by Luc Peumans, delivered the set, video and lighting that helped present a live version of Belgian comedy TV show Tegen De Sterren Op (Against the Stars) at Antwerp Sportpalais. Two of the live shows were staged.
