Philips Lighting Draws Record Number of Attendees to its PL+S Booth

FRANKFURT, Germany – Philips Lighting noted a record number of booth visitors at this Prolight + Sound exhibition earler this month. The company featured products including the Philips Showline SL HYDRUS 350, Philips Showline SL PUNCHLITE 220 and SL STRIP 10IP luminaires, among others. The Entertainment team also credited Prolight + Sound’s new concept and the company’s new booth location in the Eastern section of the Messe complex for the boost.

Quantum Special Effects Launches New Confetti, Rain Effects for Adele World Tour

LONDON – Quantum Special Effects designed two new products for Adele’s sold-out world tour – a custom  tourable rain system and storm blasters that can deliver up to a minute of non-stop confetti across an entire arena. Working closely with Adele Live 2016 show designer Es Devlin and production manager Richard Young, Quantum is supplying gear for more than 100 shows across 44 arenas.

LD Jerry Appelt Adds Impact to Scooter Visuals with 22 Robe LED Strobes

HAMBURG, Germany – LD Jerry Appelt designed the lighting and set for dance / trance trio Scooter. The lighting rig incuded 22 Robe LED strobes. The overall look and feel of the show is stark and raw to match the energy of the band. The strobes were also chosen to allow the band to see right out into the audience and to the back of the hall as they blast into the arena at punctuating moments in their high energy set.

HONG KONG – GLP‘s impression LED range was out in force at the eighth Clockenflap, a three-day outdoor music and arts festival that took place in late Nov. 2015  in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District. For U.S.-based duo Ratatat, who performed on the Atum stage, AHM Engineering Co. Ltd. provided GLP fixtures including 52 X4 LED moving heads and 20 X4 Bar 10 high performance battens.

Maestra Lights Interior of a Train for Virgin Radio Relaunch

LONDON – For the re-launch of Virgin Radio, now heard via the DAB digital radio platform, the inaugural broadcast took place aboard a specially-lit Virgin train running from Manchester to London. Virgin Radio presenters Edith Bowman and Matt Richardson were aboard the running train to do their show, and so were a number of bands. Maestra London provided portable, battery powered lighting for the train’s 200-mile trip.
