ANTWERP, Belgium – Painting with Light’s Luc Peumans energized a creative team to deliver video content for a 3D digital set and lighting design for the  Judas TheaterProducties staging of Helene Fourment. The new musical focuses on Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens’ young muse. It was staged at the Fakkeltheater in Antwerp. Painting with Light’s Michael Al Far created the video content and Jeroen Opsteyn was associate lighting designer and also programmed the lighting with Luc. All worked very closely with set designer Arno Bremers.

AUKLAND, NZ – The 53rd Halberg Awards, which honor New Zealand’s top sporting achievements, involved a collaboration between the event’s lighting, audio and LED screens supplier, Oceania, broadcast partner OSB and broadcaster SKY TV which runs the show and manages content for the three-hour live telecast. Thirty Robe BMFL Spots and 20 Pointes were included in the lighting rig this year, among other fixtures, all of which were rigged in the Vector Arena, Auckland.

LONDON – Self-adhesive switchable smart film from Pro Display’s Intelligent Glass division featured in the high-profile reveal of the new Rolls Royce Dawn Drophead Coupe. Creative agency JUSTSO covered the windows of Harrods London, one of the most exclusive advertising spaces in the world, with switchable smart film to create a very special launch experience.

GENK, Belgium – Painting With Light’s Luc Peumans used 16 Geyser RGB LED effect foggers from Chauvet DJ to add an ethereal vibe to the 2015 European Holiday on Ice production, Passion. The Geyser RGB uses 21 3-watt RGB LEDs to illuminate columns of water based fog that shoot from the machine.

TAIPEI, Taiwan – ETC’s Taiwanese dealer, Ming Li Engineering & Consultant Co., LTD., provided ColorSource and Source Four LED Series 2 luminaires and an Eos-family control system to light up two events organized by Taiwan’s Dharma Drum Mountain (DDM): he second Global Followers Assembly and the annual Great Compassion Water and Land Dharma Service.

LONDON – Lighting Designer Jon Smith turned to an Elation Professional lighting package of ACL 360 Bars, Platinum Series moving heads and Cuepix blinders for Texas pop punk band Bowling for Soup’s “How About Another Round” UK Tour in February. The tour, basically an encore tour to the band’s farewell tour of two years ago, sold out at every stop with crowds of up to 3500 fans.

SYDNEY – ULA Group represented Robe on the recent 2016 Entech Roadshow in Australia which visited five major cities – Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth reaching out to a wide cross section of industry professionals from all sectors.

GUANGZHOU – PR Lighting noted that its products found lots of interest at the GET Show in Guangzhou. The company drew attention from the estimated 60,000 attendees with booth featuring a Canton Towers theme. The show featured hundreds of exhibitors spread across six halls.

FRANKFURT, Germany – eyevis, the German manufacturer of visualization systems for professional applications, will feature some eye-catching items on its joint stand with MMT and SmartMetals Mounting Solutions at Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt. Two vertically mounted modules of the new EYE-TOLED-5500, the transparent OLED display for extraordinary presentations, are expected to grab attention from passersby.

UTRECHT, The Netherlands — Lighting integrator and distributor Fairlight BV worked with professional lighting supplier and installer Air Light to create the lighting system at TivoliVredenburg, a music venue for acts ranging from classical to heavy metal music. Marcel Zandbergen of Fairlight noted that a variety of Martin fixtures proved to be a good fit with the venue’s needs. The venue is now equipped with 72 MAC Aura wash lights, 46 MAC Viper Profile high-output luminaires, 16 Atomic 3000 DMX strobe lights, 14 MAC Quantum Wash lights, 16 MAC Quantum Profile LED profile fixtures and 16 MAC 700 Profile lights, plus four JEM ZR44 Hi-Mass foggers, four JEM Ready 365 CO2 hazers and two Exterior 1200 image projectors.

MILAN – For a production of the Disney musical, Newsies!, staged at the Teatro Nazionale in Milan, LD Valerio Tiberi chose Clay Paky fixtures for “their versatility and precision”, as well as the need to use equipment able to ensure uniform shades and temperatures for each color. The rig includes Alpha Profile 1500, chosen in part for their silent operation, and the Alpha Wash Halo 1200, which combines brightness with the versatility of a halogen lamp.

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Ignace D’Haese from Arf & Yes provided an intricate lighting design using Robe’s new Square LED fixtures for three shows produced by Flanders’ public broadcaster VRT which selected the song to represent Belgium at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Stockholm.
