DORTMUND, Germany – Niclen Moving Lights Systems GmbH has added Elation Professional Cuepix Series LED blinders and Colour Pendant color-changing LED luminaires to its inventory of rental stock. The purchase includes both versions of Elation’s popular Cuepix Blinder – the Cuepix Blinder WW2 (pictured here) and Cuepix Blinder WW4. They house 2 and 4 long-life 100W warm white 3,200K COB LEDs respectively.

TEL AVIV, Israel – A reality TV program, Music School, which is broadcast on national Channel 2, gives 16 young people the chance to be mentored and trained by four professional singers. LD Ronen Najar’s design for the show, staged at the Russell theatre in Ramatgan, Tel Aviv, includes 11 Robe BMFL Spots, six MMX Spots and an additional eight LEDBeam 100s shining from around the back of the audience. Lighting rental company Argaman Systems supplied the gear for Ronen’s rig. He uses a grandMA2 console for control.

LJUBLJANA, Slovenia — The Cankarjev Dom convention center here recently added to its inventory of more than 100 Robe lighting fixtures with the purchase o six Pointes and six more LEDWash 600 fixtures. JOHANNESBURG – The first South African rental company to invest in Kinesys automation is MGG, based in Linbropark, Johannesburg. MGG was founded by Mark Gaylard in early 1998, and has grown into one of the leading production solutions facilities in the country. LONDON – VES, which creates large multimedia and lighting installations, chose a d3 solution for the 26th annual Paszporty Polityki awards in Warsaw’s National Opera House.  The ceremony was broadcast live on Polish television network TVP2.  Warsaw-based Prolight, which distributes the leading brands in entertainment and architectural lighting, is the distributor of d3 products in Poland.

SAN JUAN, PR – For a production of Mary Poppins at San Juan’s Centro de Bellas Artes Santurce, LD Toni Fernandez-Medina included 10 Rogue R2 Spot moving LED fixtures from Chauvet Professional. Musique Xpress supplied the fixtures, which were chosen for their versatility and also for their gobo effects for the Spanish-language production.

SINGAPORE – Showtech Communications was tasked by the organizers of the New Year’s Eve festivities in Singapore’s Marina Bay area to provide a solution in integrating the existing lighting installations surrounding the bay with all the extra equipment for these celebrations. Showtech made use of 48 Robe fixtures, 45 Clay Paky fixtures and 300 LED fixtures for the events. LDs Heryadi Mohd Yusof and Ismahadie Putra Ishak also used a six-universe W-DMX setup to bridge the 400 meter span from FOH to the fixtures area for control.

BERLIN – Lighting rental company GLS supplied lighting equipment and crew to Motörhead’s final “Bad Magic” tour, which ended in Berlin in December.
