RICHARDS BAY, South Africa – Lighting designer Shaniel Laloo of Sounds Ideal used Chauvet Professional Strike 4s and Legend 230SR Beam moving fixtures for a warm-weather NYE celebration in this seaside town located about two hours by car from Durban.

SNAPE, UK – Snape Maltings Concert Hall, a 350 seat venue that often plays host to full orchestral rehearsals, small-scale opera performances, piano concerts and literary festivals, called upon White Light to repace their dimmer system. White Light provided the LSC GenVI Advanced Dimming System.

LJUBLJANA, Slovenia – Pro Plus is a the leading media company that works closely with the two TV channels with the greatest audience shares in Slovenia (POP TV and Kanal A), as well as through its topical TV channels – BRIO, KINO and OTO. Pro Plus recently invested in 12 Robe LEDWash 800s and eight MMX Spots for its main facility in Ljubljana.

LONDON – Colour Sound Experiment supplied lighting and LED video gear for a recent U.K. tour featuring the band Public Service Broadcasting. LD Francis Clegg designed the visuals. The rig included Clay Paky, Robe and SGM fixtures.

MILAN, Italy – For the U.S. exhibition at Expo 2015 in Milan last year, Habegger AG, from Switzerland, designed and installed a lighting system that included energy-saving LED technology from ETC. Approximately 61,354 square feet of exhibition space was lit by 150 Source Four LED Series 2 luminaires, complemented by 20 Selador Desire D60 luminaires and 130 conventional Source Four fixtures.

LONDON – The European premiere for Star Wars: The Force Awakens took place in London on Dec. 26. 2015. with Utopium lit up Nelson’s Column, a monument in Trafalgar Square, during the red carpet event. Utopium provided 24 Clay Paky Mythos, three MDG One atmosphere machines, four Studio Due City-color LED’s and two Studio Due City-beams.

STUTTGART, Germany – Danish electro rockers Carpark North wrapped a string of performances in Germany with a show here in early December. LD Johnny Thinggaard Lydiksen from CMY, based in Arhuus, Denmark, who has worked with the band since 2013, used Robe’s Pointes and BMFLs during the tour.

LONDON – Lighting and visuals rental company HSL supplied lighting kit — over 300 fixtures – and crew to the UK arena leg of big beat hard-dance electro rockers Prodigy’s “The Day is My Enemy” tour, working in close collaboration with lighting and show designer Andy Hurst, and also with live video specialists Video Illusions who supplied cameras and LED screens.

VASTERAS, Sweden — The National Property Board of Sweden and the Municipality of Västerås turned to ÅF Lighting for an assist with the illumination of Västerås Castle for their annual “Västerås Culture Night” so it could serve as a fitting backdrop for concert performances. ÅF Lighting, in turn, relied upon Harman’s Martin Exterior 400 Image Projector for dynamic gobo projections to complement the outdoor lighting design.

HANGZHOU, China – Hangzhou, the capital city of China’s Zhejiang Province, will host the 2016 G20 Summit from Sept. 4-5. China earmarked more than $1.1 million to upgrade the Hangzhou Grand Theatre (HZGT), 11 years after the theater opened with an ETC lighting system. ETC’s Chinese dealer, Hangzhou YiDaShi Lighting Equipment Co. Ltd. (YiDaShi), provided ETC’s Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr luminaires, Eos Ti and Gio lighting-control consoles, and a Sensor power-control system for the 592,000-square-foot arts complex, which houses five venues.

MANCHESTER, U.K. – For this year’s Warehouse Project, a series of dance events staged at the Store Street parking lot beneath the arches at Piccadilly station, dbn Lighting returned with a rig including Clay Paky Alpha Spot 575 HPEs, Alpha Wash 300s and Sharpys along with Sunstrips, Atomic strobes, four 4-Lites and ETC Source Four Juniors. New for this year were Ayrton Magic Dots on the over stage truss.
