LIMA, Peru – Moving heads from PR Lighting have been out in force at a number of high profile events in the Peruvian capital of Lima, reports Julio Vidal, general manager of Layset, the manufacturer’s territorial distributor. With bases in Peru and La Paz (Bolivia) the stage lighting specialists have enjoyed a particularly busy Autumn — thanks to their rental company partner, Cocolight Productions.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden – For Spargrisarna kan rädda världen (Saving Pigs Can Save The World), LD Michael Sevholt uses Robe fixtures to light the production’s four actors, who perform along with a 10-piece orchestra. The rig includes eight Robe DL4S Profiles and 14 LEDWash 300s.

FLORENCE, Italy – Showlight, set for May 20-23, 2017, is still a ways off, but the first exhibitors have already confirmed their attendance at teh event, held once every four years. They include Arri, German Light Products (GLP), Hawthorn and Robe.

BRISTOL, U.K. – Entertainment lighting hire and event production specialist Fineline Lighting noted a standout year of festival support for the 2015 season, with Avolites Titan consoles, dimmers, Ai servers and TitanNet Processors providing visuals control. CARDIFF, U.K. – dbn Lighting from Manchester collaborated once again with producers Walk The Plank to celebrate the tenth nniversary of the landmark Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay, Wales. dbn’s Stephen Page was asked to design lighting for the spectacle, staged outside along the main concourse approach to the Center.

AUKLAND, NZ – Simon Garrett from Oceania Productions used Robe BMFLs to light the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) 2015 at the main show-space within the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre (VEC) in Aukland.

SOUTHAMPTON, U.K. – GLS, founded in 1995, and now the newest member of the growing HSL Family, marked 20 years at the sharp end of the pro lighting and entertainment technology industry with a celebration at the Dancing Man Brewery.

LONDON – Lighting designer Jip Nipius controlled the lighting for a special ‘cinematic’ two-part show by English rockers Suede at London’s Roundhouse in November using an Avolites Tiger Touch II for the first time. Nipius has been working with Suede since the late 1990s and was asked to create a lighting design to complement the band’s ‘experiential’ new shows, which were performed to launch a brand new concept album and short film.

LONDON – For an event at the Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera House in London that heralded the launch of LD Yaron Abulafia’s  book, The Art of Light on Stage – Lighting in Contemporary Theatre, Yaron used Robe-supplied fixtures to light the Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Theatre.

CAMBRIDGE, U.K. – For alt-rockers Mallory Knox, who have been touring in support of their second album, Asymmetry, released in late 2014, LD and set designer Jordon Cooper, who has worked with the band since 2013, included Robe fixtures in the rig.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – MGG, one of the fastest growing South African technical production and solutions companies, has invested in more Robe equipment with the purchase of 12 BMFL Blades, 12 CycFX 8s and 12 DL4S Profiles. Pictured here with the latest arrival of gear is owner Mark Gaylard.

GHENT, Belgium  — Chauvet opened its second European facility. The grand opening was attended by more than 200 lighting professionals. The invitation-only event also celebrated Chauvet’s 25-year milestone and featured product demos, music and a lightshow.
