ZYWIEC, Poland – For Meskie Granie, a six-stop festival tour culminated in Zywiec with a show drawing 10,000, Pawel Pajak (AKA Spider) from Fish Eye once again served as lighting, video and set designer. Spider specified 100+ Robe fixtures including 33 miniPointes, 16 LEDBeam 1000s, 18 CycFX 8s and 42 LEDWash 800s. Robe’s Polish distributor Prolight and local production company Transcolor supplied the gear.
Read More »BUCHAREST, Romania — A fire sparked by pyro effects during a performance by heavy metal band Goodbye to Gravity ignited foam decor and raced across the ceiling within the crowded Colectiv nightclub at about 10:30 p.m. Oct. 30, filling the venue with smoke and fumes. About 400 people were in the club at the time of the fire. Sixty were killed, including all but one of the band members, according to news reports.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden – Hyrljudet, a sound company that has branched into lighting since it was founded in 2005 by Kristoffer Jansson, added 24 of Robe’s Pointes to its inventory earlier this year. WOLFSBURG, Germany – Andreas “Mini” Mertens used grandMA2 consoles to control the visuals once again at this year’s Wassershow at the Autostadt. The French themed show featured a combination of fire, water, video, lights, lasers and music. A total of four grandMA2 light consoles, 3 grandMA2 full-size consoles and 1 grandMA2 fader wing were used to control the lights, pyrotechnics and fountain effects. The moving lights included 50 Clay Paky Sharpy Wash 330s and 20 Clay Paky Mythos units.
