PRAGUE – The Vivaldianno Project – featuring classics played in a unique classical rock style – is a crossover musical concept evolved by Italian violinist Jaroslav Sveceny and Czech rock keyboardist Michal Dvorak. The latest touring version of the show played five large arenas in the Czech and Slovak Republics with a full Robe moving light rig supplied by rental company Q-99 from Slovakia.  Martin Hruska designed the lighting looks.

WALLERN, Austria – When experiential event production agency Media Apparat took on the technical aspects of Pioneers Festival in June 2015, the new multimedia control and display capabilities of AV Stumpfl Wings Engine Stage and Fullwhite screens were put to a real-world test.

BERGAMO, Italy – Clay Paky relayed comments made by LD Giovanni Pinna, who has lit Giovanni Pinna since 1991. Clay Paky fixtures accounted for more than 25 percent of the total number of moving lights in use for Pinna’s concerts this year. The rig included Clay Paky Sharpy spotlights (54), Sharpy Wash 330s (50) and Alpha Beam 1500s (24).

LEICESTERSHIRE, U.K. —LD Steve Bewley is the first to tour the UK and Europe with Ayrton MagicBlade-R fixtures, using over 100 units for British rock-band, Enter Shikari, in support of their new album, The Mindsweep. Bewley has truss-mounted 84 MagicBlade-R fixtures behind the band in a curved wall which splits horizontally to adapt his design to fit any size of venue. The band is pictured here at the Download Festival, held in Leicestershire, U.K. in June.

SINGAPORE — Singapore hosted the 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) June 5-16 in conjunction with the republic’s 50th year of independence, using Riedel Communications’ Artist digital matrix intercom system and Acrobat digital wireless intercom system for the event’s opening and closing ceremonies.

JOHANNESBURG – Production Designer Declan Randall included Robe fixtures in the rig for the new South African production of Sister Act. The 89 Robe LED moving lights used for the ‘Rose Window’ scenes are a visual highlight for the show.

IBIZA – The high-profile team behind Heart, a recent addition to Ibiza’s thriving summer nightlife scene, turned to Belgium-based Arf & Yes for the nightspot’s lighting design, which needed to be flexible for a variety of performances staged there. Featured fixtures include 112 Rogue R1 Washes from Chauvet Professional, supplied by Stonex Show Lighting.

LAHTI, Finland – A light art installation, Valokaivo (Light Well), invites passersby to activate lighting changes by stepping on the artwork’s protective glass panel. Studiotec supplied the Martin VC-Dots for the media surface and the reActor Media server used for the installation, which was designed by Studio Lux Nova and Marjut Kauppinen. The Invisible developed the interactive digital content and installed the IP camera motion tracking.

VORDINGBORG, Denmark — LD Kasper Lange included Ayrton MagicBlade-R fixtures for the recent Dizzy Mizz Lizzy tour of Denmark, which kicked off with six shows in April and May and continued to take in the majority of this summer’s festivals. Lange specified 65 MagicBlade-R units, sourced via Ayrton’s Danish distributor, Bico Professionel A/S, and supplied by LiteCom A/S.

MANCHESTER, U.K. – The U.K.’s big Parklife festival was staged June 6-7 at Manchester’s 600-acre Heaton Park by The Warehouse Project. Clay Paky fixtures were well-represented at the event. Event production house Audile supplied 12 Mythos, 16 Stormy CC strobes, 96 Sharpys, 12 Alpha Spot HPE 700 and eight Alpha Beam 700 fixtures. The fixtures were rigged on The Temple outdoor stage and several of the Big Top arenas and used to light artists such as Nas and Brit and FKA Twigs.

UK – Mojo Barriers supplied over 1,300m of safety barriers at both V Festival sites – Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire – on Aug. 22-23 2015. This year marked the 14th year where Mojo Barriers were used at both V Festival sites.
