LONDON – Lighting designer Steve Bewley included some Clay Paky Alpha Spot QWO 800s for experimental British rockers Enter Shikari’s string of home-ground dates.

CARDIFF, Wales – LD Tim Routledge lit the opening ceremonies for the Six Nations Rugby Tournament at series at 74,500-capacity Millennium Stadium. Routledge included Clay Paky fixtures in the PRG-supplied lighting rig.

VERACRUZ, Mexico – They may be on a smaller scale than the Olympic Games but the 22nd Central American and Caribbean Games packed just as much glitz and glamor into their opening ceremonies in Veracruz, Mexico last November.  Lighting designer David Grill, of David Grill and Associates, Inc. (DGA) in Mahwah, New Jersey, used Clay Paky Sharpys and A.leda B-EYE K20s to illuminate the festivities.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – The world tour supporting Grammy-winner Chris Brown’s latest album X features a power-packed lightshow designed by LD Bryan Hartley, who is widely known for his work with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  As sometimes happens with international tours, however, rigs have to be pared down when the show travels from country to country.

BELGIUM – Earlier this year, Luc Peumans of Painting With Light lit the Belgian TV Music Industry Awards (MIA)s event in Lint, Belgium with 30 High End Systems SHAPESHIFTERs (twelve W1 and 18 C1) in the rig. Producers VRT brought Luc back after his beautiful first design last year. His charge was to create a full production design incorporating lighting, set and video and visuals. Set design was accomplished by Painting with Light and Deusjevoo.

LONODON – London’s Royal Albert Hall is the first live performance venue in the UK to invest in Robe’s BMFL Spot moving light, with a purchase of 17 fixtures for its in-house lighting rig.

WUPPERTAL, Germany — During a one-of-a-kind “digital sticker” initiative created to bring fans worldwide closer to their favorite team, Microsoft and Real Madrid used the Riedel Communications STX-200 professional Skype interface to facilitate a real-time Q&A session between Real Madrid fans and players.
