MOSCOW, Russia – Clay Paky opened a Clay Paky Service Centre in Moscow in March 2015, with the task of providing technical support to all CIS and former CIS nations. The office is run by Andrey Miroshnichenko and can count on three highly specialized technicians, who have recently attended an intensive specialization course in product support at Clay Paky. The same technicians will attend regular training courses to make sure our customers receive up-to-the-minute expertise and all the necessary information regarding the latest products.

LONDON – Robe lights were right there at the hub of the action for the UK’s largest student show and the world’s biggest Bhangra competition, ‘Bhangra Showdown’, which this year seriously upped the ante, moving to the SSE Arena, Wembley, London  for the first time, reflecting the success and popularity of the event now in its eighth glorious year.

ANTWERP, Belgium – Event agency DDMC turned to LD Jean-Jacques Marotte for help in lighting the opening ceremony for a new railway tunnel north of Antwerp, Belgium. PRG Belgium supplied the fixtures, which included gear from SGM.

BUDAPEST, Hungary – Ayrton’s dynamic MagicPanel-R and MagicBlade-R LED lighting fixtures formed key elements in Light Design Kft’s lighting of the interactive singing contest Rising Star Hungary, the Grand Finale of which broke all ratings records in February 2015. The competition took place over three months and was broadcast on television networks across Hungary and the neighbouring countries.

ST. PAUL, MN – Maroon 5’s tour in support of the fifth studio album, V, began its North American leg on Feb. 16 in Dallas. Featuring lighting, visuals and stage design by Leroy Bennett that includes Upstaging-supplied Robe fixtures, the North American leg concludes April 6 in Anaheim, CA. The tour then continues with shows in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia from late May through early October 2015.

FRANKFURT, Germany – Elation Professional says it has never headed to a trade show with such a complete lineup of professional lighting and video products as it has for the 2015 Prolight + Sound show, set for April 15-18. The company will display its latest offerings, including the Platinum FLX fixture pictured here, at Stand D50 in Hall 11.

WEST YORKSHIRE, U.K. – SGM is continuing to support Backstage Academy, the industry-led education center in the north of England, in its bid to offer BA (Hons) degree courses within the events industry.

LONDON — For a live show DVD featuring British progressive rock band Lifesigns, LD Chris Curran used a rig that included Martin MAC Quantum Wash fixtures. Curran also used Martin’s M6 controller.

LONDON – National tourism agency VisitBritain recently held two distinct trade events in North and Southwest England, both aimed at helping local businesses develop international tourism. The agency turned to event production supplier White Light to provide lighting and projection mapping for both events, using new technology to complement two unique historic venues in Plymouth and Yorkshire, U.K.

U.K. – West Midlands based Central Presentation Ltd (CPL) supplied full technical production – lighting, video, audio and rigging – for the 2015 SEMTA Skills Awards, an annual event that celebrates the achievements of people, businesses and training partners in the engineering, science and manufacturing technologies sectors, enabling UK industry to compete on the global stage.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico – L&P Service, led by LD Mariano Alfaya and sound engineer/PM Jose Luis Torres (pictured here, L-R), have invested in an inventory that includes Robe moving lights.The duo recently added 16 MMX WashBeams to their existing inventory of 30 LEDWash 300s and 20 Pointe fixtures. The gear was sourced via Robe’s Mexican distributor, Vari International.
