Clay Paky Sharpys Used at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

MADRID, Spain – Lighting designer Edu Valverde used Clay Paky Sharpys for a show celebrating Spanish jewellery brand Aristocrazy at this year’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid. The designer positioned the Sharpys in straight lines down either side of the catwalk entrance, highlighting the stark geometry of the door and also in further parallel lines down either side of the catwalk.

Portugal’s “The Voice” Uses Nexus 4×4 Pixel Mapping for Extra Flash

LISBON, Portugal – Marco Silva, LD and programmer for A Voz de Portugal, the Portuguese version of The Voice, used 28 Chauvet Nexus 4 x 4 panels to create a front stage façade, which he had pixel mapped by João Canoso of FX – Road Lights. Working with an Mbox Studio media server, Canoso created a design that coordinated with the 6 mm LED upstage video wall. On the live segments of the show, Silva complements the 28 Nexus 4×4 panels with 48 COLORdash Batten-Hex 8 linear wash fixtures and 48 COLORado 1-Quad Tour RGBW LED par-style fixtures.

Robert Juliat Lancelot Lights Lanxess Arena, Cologne

COLOGNE, Germany – The Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany has acquired four Robert Juliat Lancelot followspots. “We chose the RJ Lancelot products because we were not completely satisfied with the American manufacturer we worked with before and therefore preferred to use a European product,” says Lanxess Arena’s technical manager, Martin Rebiszewski.

Robe Lights Top Gear Live European Tour

LD Steve Sinclair used nearly 200 Robe moving lights to light the Europen tour of Top Gear Live. The Robe fixtures were 38 x LEDWash 600s, 12 x LEDWash 800s, 40 x LEDWash 1200s and 36 x MMX WashBeams all from Robe’s ROBIN series, together with 36 ColorSpot 1200E ATs and 16 x ColorWash 1200E ATs. The main aesthetic challenges include lighting lightning fast moving vehicles and illuminating a large – 27 metres wide by 53 metres deep – stage area keeping it edgy, exciting and theatrical – and also providing the drivers with enough light to perform safely!

Universal Event Production Supplies Lighting, Video Gear for Nike Pop-up Store

LONDON – Universal Event Production supplied full technical production to the Nike Phenomenal House, a one week only pop-up experience to celebrate football, street culture and style, music and fashion. For video, UEP flew six 60 inch plasma screens as a seamless 3×3 LED wall in the main space and supplied a 2 x 3 meter 3.9 mm LED wall, both of which received live camera feeds. The main football field was lit with 16 Robe LEDWash 600 and 12 Robe ColorSpot 1200 E AT moving lights plus a number of conventional fixtures.

Chauvet EPIX 2.0 Used for Pixel Mapping at Grosvenor House Event

LONDON – Bringing dazzle to one of London’s most high-profile venues, Storm Events used Chauvet’s EPIX 2.0 to achieve a glittering pixel-mapping effect. “We joined all of the EPIX units end-to-end in twos, and spaced them at 250mm across the set,” said Production Director Andy White, noting that a total of 80 strips and bars were used.  “Our design alternated strips and bars back and forth with the strips set slightly higher than the bars to create a 2.3m high continuous image.  Using Kling-Net we were able to map the entire image in about 30 minutes.”
