In Extremo Tour LD Stephan “Faren” Matern Turns to Clay Paky Gear

BERLIN, Germany – For German rockers In Extremo, LD Stephan “Faren” Matern turned to a range of fixtures far newer than the musical instruments the band members typically play on tour. On the band’s recent Kunstraub tour, Alpha Spot QWO 800 STs and Clay Paky Sharpy Beams lit performers using the 12th century shawm (a woodwind instrument), the Renaissance-era cittern, the hammered dulcimer and other vintage instruments.

Jands and Slingco Provide “Invisible Grid” for the Eternity Playhouse in Sydney

SYDNEY – Hoping to avoid obscuring the hand-carved ceiling of the Burton St. Tabernacle, Jands Staging installed a see-through grid. They recommended a product called Cablenet; a tension wire grid platform that Jands used to create a see-through ‘virtual ceiling’. Installed above the audience’s head, Cablenet carries the load of both lighting and technicians with complete safety, all without compromising the LD’s vision or the audience’s enjoyment of the heritage ceiling.
