LONDON – White Light supplied lighting solutions and production support for The Seekers arena tour to the UK. The lighting package included a mixture of conventional and automated fixtures – including ETC Source 4 profiles and Martin Professional Mac 700s – along with power distribution, drapes, and cyclorama, all supplied by White Light. The show toured with a grandMA console for programming and show control. LD Simon Tutchener opted for an uncluttered stage, simple backdrop, and subtle colors to accompany The Seekers’ pop melodies.

LONDON – More than 30 classic car and motorbike enthusiasts completed a 650-mile journey for this year’s First Night Riders charity ride, raising money for The Theatrical Guild. TTG helps theatre personnel who need educational sponsorship, counselling, or welfare advice in order for them to regain employment in the theatre industry.

MELBOURNE, Australia — Ms Collins, an 800-capacity nightclub with seven bars of varying size and ambience, features a design by Blackmilk Interiors and a lighting rig supplied and installed by Show Technology and Audio and Lighting Services. The main room and the mezzanine floor are lit with Martin’s RUSH fixtures and MAC Auras from Harman’s Martin Professional lighting division.

LONDON — For the Streets of Spain festival, held in London’s Southbank Centre May 2-5, Entec provided gear for the “Colour Lab,” which invited participants to explore how being immersed in different hues affected their taste buds. LD Simon Honnor used 24 of Entec’s Robe LEDWash 600s for the Colour Lab, which engaged the senses of close to 3,500 participants over the festival’s four-day span.

MANCHESTER, U.K. — Looking to upgrade the refurbished Albert Hall here with lightweight and versatile fixtures, dbn Lighting specified Clay Paky Sharpys and Alpha Spot 575 HPEs for the Grade II listed, multi purpose venue.

ACCRA, Ghana — For the 15th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), organized by Charterhouse Ghana and staged recently at the AICC here, the production crew used fixtures from PR Lighting, including a dozen XR Beam 200 and XR Beam 300 fixtures, eight XLED 1037 LED moving head washers and four XS 1200 Spots.

IBIZA, Spain — Space Ibiza recently launched its 2014 summer season with a 10-hour party lit by LD Eduardo Valverde. The rig included 42 Robe ROBIN moving lights provided by Madrid based ASL Light Solutions — 30 Pointes and 12 LEDWash 300s.

LONDON — For a Royal Albert Hall concert featuring Manchester, U.K.-based indie band, The 1975, LDs Tobias Rylander and Darren Purves included a dozen Philips Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash FX luminaires in the rig. The design mirrored the band’s visual aesthetic, which minimizes the use of color and emphasizes the square shape of their logo design.

BLACKPOOL, U.K. — Amanda Thompson, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach and president of Stageworks Worldwide Productions, noted that Stageworks, which had acquired a Jands Vista T2 desk to support its Hot Ice Show production in 2011, recently upgraded to a Jands Vista L5 to support the increasing complexity of its ice skating spectacular.
