CAST wysiwyg Assists with Multimedia ‘Rhythm Of Life’ in Macao

MACAO – LD Alessio de Simone credited CAST Software’s wysiwyg for its pre-viz assist withThe Rhythm Of Life, a multimedia show presented in Macao’s ancient city center. “We placed all the projectors as called-for in our wysiwyg documentation, turned on all the moving heads – and every scene position was exactly as it had been in our pre-visualization. With small adjustments for pan and tilt, gobos and beams were perfect – just like they had appeared in our designs, 10,000km away,” de Simone said.

Mojo Barriers Entrusted By McBusted

LONDON – Mojo Barriers is keeping McBusted’s screaming fans safe as the British supergroup heads across the UK on its first ever arena tour. Working to CAD drawings Mojo is providing 48m of standard aluminium barriers and corners configured to form a golden circle which is situated inside the curved catwalk, alongside a secondary barrier line. A further 40m is used on the C-stage.

Luciano Ligabue Performances in Italy Lit with Robe Gear

ITALY – LD Jo Campana used 20 Robe ROBIN Pointe moving lights to created an intimate atmosphere for Italian singer-songwriter, film director and author Luciano Ligabue’s “Mondovisione” tour. The gigs for this leg of the tour primarily visited smaller towns, and the whole vibe of the production was to present a ‘back-to-the-roots’ style of show where the singer could communicate in a close and personal way with his fans.

Colour Sound For We Are FSTVL

LONDON – This year’s We Are FSTVL upped the ante on several fronts, expanding the event to two days, increasing the level of production and securing an action-packed line-up with main stage headliners Richie Hawtin and Fatboy Slim. Providing the visual spectacle for this EDM event, Colour Sound Experiment deployed five trucks of kit, 26 crew, around 500 square metres of their proprietary BT LED screen, over 350 moving lights and a shed-pile of strobes, blinders and atmospheric effects to the site, where all their elements were co-ordinated by Crew Chief Andy Melleney.

Challenged to create a fully flexible rig that looks fabulous in a wide variety of venues, is quick and easy to rig and de-rig and will fit into one truck, LD Luc Peumans from Painting With Light designed a rig that includes eight DMX controllable electric ribbon lifts fitted with lights. Divided into eight fabric columns flown at the back, the eight letters of C-L-O-U-S-E-A-U are spelt out along the bottom of the strips.

Fineline Feels the Love in Bristol

BRISTOL – Downtown Bristol was buzzing with great music and vibes at the weekend for the third ‘Love Saves the Day’ Festival, a multi-stage event in Castle Park right in the heart of the city. Headliners included Annie Mac, SBTRKT, Jamie xx, Eats Everything and many more. For the first year, lighting and visuals rental specialist Fineline – also based in Bristol – was asked to supply lighting equipment, LED screens / media server control, rigging and a visual production design for the Main Stage … which seriously upped its production values from 2013 in line with the profile of the festival which sold out its 12,000 capacity on both days.
