SOCHI, Russia – For the Winter Paralympic Games, LD Durham Marenghi used a lighting rig originally specified for the Winter Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies to create a dramatic new design. “Most of the equipment was supplied and installed by PRG and the system already, included a large array of Sharpys and Sharpy Washes. We added some Clay Paky Alpha Profile 1500 and A.leda B-Eye K10 for specific tasks in the Paralympics,” he said.

TALLINN, Estonia – LD Rene Johve’s design for The Song of Estonia competition, whose winner represents the country in the Eurovision Song Contest, used more 80 Robe moving lights, including 32 Robin Pointes. SYDNEY — Paul Marin, 31, whose design work at dance clubs and stages included lighting and laser effects along with set design, died Feb. 14 from Glioblastoma Multiforme, a form of brain cancer. He had been fighting the disease since it was diagnosed last September. Marin had provided the lighting design for events around the world, including Peter Rauhofer’s WORK! party at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, the Circuit Festival in Barcelona, Spain, various gCircuit events, the Sidney Mardi Gras and many more.

The rig for the tour, which visited both theatre- and arena-sized venues, included 28 Robe Robin MMX Spots and 34 Robin LEDWash 600s.
