SALVADOR — More than 120,000 tickets were sold for the 16th Festival de Verão (Summer Festival) held in this city, the capital of the Brazilian state of Bahia, during a recent four-day span (Jan. 29-Feb. 1.) For the main stage, rental company Luzbel Iluminação provided Robe fixtures to meet the specifications of LD Junior Luzbel, who heads the locally based production company with his brother Ricardo Luzbel and his business partner Ricardo Gordilho. The setup included 36 Robin Pointes, 12 MMX Spots, 24 LEDWash 1200s, 14 ColorSpot 1200E ATs and 12 ColorBeam 700E ATs.

KENT, U.K. — For “The Concert Lighting Project,” a hands-on educational module offered to lighting design students at Rose Bruford, a theatre and performance college based here, LD Dave “Bickie” Lee and program director Hansjorg Schmidt secured Robe and Avolites gear, working with Siyan, Robe UK and Avolites.

Euroshow and LD Alexey Zhuravlev included Harman’s Martin lighting fixtures to surround a large Christmas tree at the event.

LOS ANGELES – For its first restaurant in the U.S., Meizhou Dongpo Chinese Restaurant worked with LED Source’s Gavin Cooper and Lee Braddock on a design that turns ceilings and walls into expressive canvases of color. The design scheme also incorporates 475 lit vases set in glass-lined cubby holes along interior walls.
