TARTU, Estonia – LD Palle Palmé is using some of Big House’s recently acquired Robe Robin lighting fixtures to work for the current production of Evita. The rig for the show includes 56 LEDWash 1200s, 20 MMX Spots, 24 600E Washes and six 600E Spots – more than 100 of the new fixtures in all.

BEIJING – LD Pero Trifuljesku used LSC Lighting’s Clarity to control the visuals accompanying the Viva Vox Choir’s performance at The Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square. The choir and LD both hail from Serbia. Trifuljesku credited the Clarity software’s Template Editor for helping him quickly gain control over a wide range of fixtures encountered while traveling to different venues.

Faced with lighting an entire stadium for the recording of a DVD, LD Marcos Olivio turned to SGM to meet his lighting needs. A large-scale LED package made the challenge of illuminating such a large arena simpler and more economical by requiring less energy while providing a much greater intensity.

ROME – LD Francesco de Cave included Robe fixtures for Laura Pausini’s recent performances. Among the 200 or so lighting fixtures on the European tour were 50 LEDWash 300s. They are used for all the production’s base stage and band washing looks.

DUBAI and DOHA – A&O Creative, the creative department of A&O Technology, stayed busy through the end of 2013 planning three spectacular international events that celebrated the arrival of 2014. The photo here shows the celebration in Doha of Qatar’s National Day, which took place Dec. 18. Both pyro and searchlights were situated on Old Palm Trees Island for this event.

MANCHESTER, U.K. – dbn has transformed a former Methodist meeting hall into Albert Hall with the installation of an elaborate lighting system. The century-old building will now host bands, comedy and cabaret shows, club nights, parties and corporate events.

BERGAMO, Italy — Clay Paky, which is supporting its line of B-EYE fixtures with a website dedicated to the line, www.b-eye.it, also received and relayed first-hand accounts of industry professionals who have put the new fixtures to use. Disributors including Ambersphere Solutions in the U.K., A.C.T Lighting in the U.S. and Lightpower GmbH in Germany reported usage trends.

LONDON — Arriving amid nasty weather and marooned without his luggage, LD Eric Wade nevertheless managed to generate positive reviews for the look of the January makeup shows at London’s O2 Arena  for Maroon 5. (The band’s tour had to shuffle performance dates to meet frontman Adam Levine’s commitments to the U.S. version of The Voice.) Wade included Clay Paky fixtures in the rig.
