ZURICH, Switzerland — Drawing close to 950,000 people, the Zurich Street Parade 2013 featured nearly 200 DJs performing on 30 trucks and eight large-scale stages. Along with such headliners as Bob Sinclar, Westbam, Nicky Romero and NERVO, the event featured Laserworld AG’s laser shows from three stages. Laserworld used Wireless Solution Sweden’s W-DMX for its peripheral systems including smoke and haze machines.

Studio Hamburg Awards Lit with Clay Paky Gear

HAMBURG, Germany — LD Andreas Rinne once again relied upon Clay Paky fixtures for Studio Hamburg’s annual awards ceremony for filmmaking students at the Thalia Theatre here. Rinne used Clay Paky Sharpys and Alpha Spot QWO 800 STs to supplement the house rig and light Julia Bau’s updated set design. Sarah Wagner was the lighting operator, Hans Thutewohl and Ralf Scholz were chief lighting technicians and Blue Noise provided the fixtures.

Italian Game Show Lit with Robe Fixtures

NAPLES, Italy — Italian television lighting designer Salvo Perrini used nearly 200 Robe moving lights on the most recent series of ‘Reazione A Catena’ (Chain Reaction) for national TV channel RAI. The show was recorded at RAI’s Auditorium HQ here, where Perrini lit the show for the second time, before which it was recorded in Rome.

LightConverse Software Used for Lollapalooza Brazil

SAO PAULO, Brazil — Lollapalooza, which ventured from Chicago’s Grant Park to Santiago, Chile in 2011 and Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2012, returned to the Jockey Club in Sao Paulo for the last three days in March, 2013. Electra Light and LPL Lighting Productions set up an on-site custom 3D visualization studio with all three main stages virtually replicated in LightConverse for the benefit of visiting LDs.
