KENT, UK – Lighting rental specialist RML has recently made a large investment in Robe moving lights to service its busy ongoing schedule, which includes a wide selection of shows, events and high profile TV series and programs. Adlib Supplies Elvis Costello’s Tour

LIVERPOOL, UK – UK rental specialist Adlib is supplying lighting, sound, rigging equipment and crew for the current Elvis Costello and The Imposters ‘Revolver’  UK and European tour. It’s the first time that the Liverpool based company has worked with Costello. There’s no formal set list in the show. Songs are chosen – enough to fill nearly three hours of performance – largely by audience members invited onstage to spin a giant wheel bearing different song titles, with a pool of more than 100 potential numbers.

Robe in The House for Berlin Summer Rave

BERLIN – More than 200 Robe moving lights helped rock the house and showcase the Berlin’s emerging DJs and Techno, House, Electro and Minimal talent who made serious summer noise in four aircraft hangars at the Templehof Airport site for A&P’s 2013 ‘Berlin Summer Rave.’ A capacity audience of 20,000 enjoyed Martin Kuhn’s production lighting design. The Robe fixtures were central to the night of action in the Ostfunk, Planet Bass and House Floor arenas.

Clay Paky on ‘The Voice of Germany’ TV Show

BERLIN – ProSieben and SAT.1 has launched its new season of “The Voice of Germany,” a German talent show, recently broadcast from Studio Berlin Adlershof. The show is based on “The Voice” TV format, produced by Talpa Media and Schwartzkopff TV Productions.  LD Manuel da Costa used about 300 moving lights, including 50 Clay Paky Sharpys and the new Elidy LED system made by the French manufacturer Chromlech, which Lightpower has recently begun distributing.

Showtech 2013 Organizers Report ‘Good Business, High Visitor Quality’

BERLIN – More than 7,400 visitors attended Showtech 2013, the international trade show and conference for theatre, film and events at the Berlin Exhibition Center June 19-20. It was a slight increase compared to the previous event two years ago, which drew 7,364 in 2011. Showtech organizers say this year’s show was characterized by “good business and high visitor quality.”

SYDNEY — Chauvet Professional Nexus 4×4 performed at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney, spicing up Timomatic’s performance  during the 2013 State of Origin Game 1 pregame entertainment. Singer-songwriter and dancer Timomatic gained fame as a contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance” Australia. Josh Moffat of Events Infrastructure specified, designed and operated  the lighting equipment, and also supplied the visual technical support for the event.

Colour Sound Invests 350K in Robe Moving Lights

LONDON – Lighting and visuals rental company Colour Sound Experiment has invested £350,000 in the latest Robe moving lights to increase its stock and service its busy work schedule. Forty LEDWash 600s, 40 LEDWash 300s and 35 MMX Spots, all from Robe’s Robin range, have joined Colour Sound’s rental inventory, which now features more than 250 Robe moving heads, as well as a few hundred more from other brands.

LONDON – LD Tim Routledge used Philips Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash and Spot luminaires to deliver a backdrop for the World War Z action film premiere after-show concert by Muse, held at London’s Horse Guards Parade. Epic and apocalyptic, Routledge’s lighting design not only took care of the stage but the buildings and park surrounding the area to create an eerie, experiential evening of atmospheric entertainment for the 15,000 Muse fans attending.
