Clay Paky Stars on Eros Ramazzotti’s European Tour

ITALY – Eros Ramazzotti’s European tour set, video and lighting were designed and built by lighting and video designer Jvan Morandi and his company Placing Shadow. Morandi explains the design. “The set itself consists of large hanging parallelepipeds, which are fitted with high resolution LED panels and large areas for video projections. The entire 18-ton assembly is equipped with a vertical automation system attached to the corners of the 3-D structures (four triangles, a diamond and a cube), which can be moved to give substance to the scene.”

‘Let’s Dance for Comic Relief’ Turns to PixelRange

WORCESTER, UK – Lighting Let’s Dance for Comic Relief for the fifth year running, LD Steve Nolan of Chromatic Productions called upon PixelRange once again to provide sparkling effects lighting for this charity extravaganza. PixelRange donated 48 PixelSmart LED fixtures and 14 SmartLine 4 LED battens to provide extra pace and drama during the show’s title sequences and dance routines.

SYDNEY – The new Clarity LX series consoles have saved time and energy for Sydney broadcast lighting director Grant “Doc” Watson and his operation Strauss Productions. The Clarity LX series cross platform interoperability with the PC and Mac software has allowed Strauss to create shows on Clarity software on a laptop while the LX Consoles are in use elsewhere and then bring the show file to site on a USB stick.

Avolites Ai Server Aids Sky TV’s Dance Show

LONDON – Avolites Media’s Ai server has been powering the fast-paced visuals for Sky TV’s spring series of “Got to Dance.” With the help of Ai, the visual team was able to see the entire TV studio as one giant canvas, using Ai’s ability to scale the outputs to compensate for the varying pixel pitches of the different LED fixtures. Ai is equipped to play back to video canvasses up to 8x HD1080 and this was a significant benefit to the production.

RIVA, Italy – The Spiaggia degli Olivi lighthouse, a historic monument on Lake Garda, was turned off about 40 years ago. Restoration work has turned on the light again – but instead of the complicated original 24-volt mechanism, there is a new Clay Paky Sharpy inside the lantern room, which is not only able to reproduce the brightness of the old lighthouse, but also its perfect movement.
