Avolites Tiger Touch 6.1 Debuts on Level 42 Anniversary Tour

LONDON – Lighting designer Yenz Nyholm used his Avolites Tiger Touch to help reignite the memories of Level 42 fans when the band performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall. He programmed both the lighting and the video through his Avolites’ Tiger Touch 6.1, which now features enhancements and updates that have advanced the console’s capability. He said, “The best thing for me is the cue stacking. You can display your cue list and each individual cue’s parameters on the screens, but better still you can go in and change every parameter without having to be in the cue itself. This has been a massive time saving device.”

dbn Helps Manchester’s Holiday Season Switch-On

MANCHESTER, UK – Lighting and rigging company dbn supplied stage lighting for the city’s 2012 Festive Season lighting switch-on. dbn’s Andy Kennett designed the lighting, making sure to light the audience as well as the stage action and to create effects that involved everyone as a whole. COPENHAGEN – LD Kasper Lange used a large Martin MAC rig that included Martin Professional’s new MAC Viper Profile for the 2012 Danish Music Awards at the Forum in Copenhagen. “We needed a small and powerful lamp that could cut through the massive audience light,” Lange said. The event was broadcast live in Denmark.

The Sapphire Touch is a new step for Bushell, who until the festival season was working with his own Tiger Touch. Features on the Sapphire Touch helped him handle the frantic pace of festival shows. “I program and operate visually not mathematically,” explains Bushell. “I’m not interested in punching numbers into a desk. The Avolites consoles enable me to quickly and simply achieve what I want, whatever the nature of the job.”

ETC Selador LEDs and Paradigm Control for Oslo Concert Hall

OSLO – Elektrik Solutions of Norway has supplied lighting and power control for a refurbishment of the Oslo Konserthus (Concert Hall). Some 100 ETC Selador Desire D40 Lustr+ LED fixtures have been installed in the auditorium ceiling for house lighting, along with another 14 in the choir area. The Selador Desire fixtures were chosen for their power savings along with their ability to accurately render or even enhance colors and skin tones. The ETC Unison Paradigm system was chosen for control.
