SEOUL, South Korea – Robe moving lights have been installed in the E&M TV studio in Seoul, South Korea. The studio produces music shows – both pre-recorded and live – for the MNet broadcasting network’s 24-hour music channel. RGB services their lighting needs, and took into account the opinions and views of the various operators who work at the studio before laying down the final spec.

BELGRADE, Serbia – The Palilula Cultural Centre has upgraded its lighting fixtures, dimmers and control to ETC’s latest technology. ETC’s Serbian distributor Studio Berar installed and commissioned the project. The gear was specified based on factors including the quality of the fixture optics, ease of handling, quick lamp replacement and the user-friendly nature of the Element console.

ITALY – For Italian rock band LITFIBA’s latest tour, lighting/show designer Jo Campana brought in Martin Professional’s MAC Aura LED wash with 1500-watt MAC III Profiles and MAC 2000 Wash XBs. “I needed something that could properly compete with its bigger neighbors in the rig in terms of brightness and presence and the MAC Aura didn’t disappoint,” he said.

LONDON – The Royal Albert Hall recently purchased Coemar ParLite LED fixtures as part of a major re-vamp of its auditorium lighting. Entertainment lighting specialist White Light, Coemar’s exclusive distributor in the UK, supplied the hall with 54 ParLites, which have now been installed to uplight the columns that encircle the iconic auditorium at gallery level.

PAPENBURG, Germany -Visual Productions’ German distributor, LMP, recently supplied a CueCore and other lighting equipment for the new Cinema Center in Papenburg. Designed and implemented by Werner Post of W.P.highlights, his concept revolves around energy efficiency with the magic word for the overall design being “emotional signage.” The CueCore’s scheduler is not only capable of triggering on time, date and weekday but also on sunrise and sunset.

LONDON – Universal Event Productions (UEP) supplied a full technical production package – lighting, sound, video and staging – to a recent high profile party staged in the Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel in Park Lane, London. UEP’s James Fickling designed the lighting for the event, headlined by alt hip hop /rock  artist and musician Tinchy Stryder.

MONTREAL – SGM and its Canadian distributor SF Marketing signed a new contract which will see SGM’s next generation of LED fixtures under the name ‘SGM Canada.’ With the news of Peter Johansen’s involvement in the company last year, SF Marketing had been anxious to establish its position within SGM’s brave new business model after the Dane had bought out the business from the RCF Group. “As the original founder of Martin Professional, he is one of the giants of the industry,” said SFM’s COO Randal Tucker, “and we couldn’t have been more excited by the news that he had taken ownership of SGM.”

LOS ANGELES – When Mexico marked the 150th anniversary of Cinco de Mayo – the commemoration of the Battle of Puebla, which halted an invasion by the French – it pulled out all the stops with special events.  Clay Paky Sharpy fixures and grandMA2 lighting consoles were on hand for the Cinco de Mayo Spectacular, the nighttime gala orchestrated by Five Currents.
