LONDON – Nierka, a multidisciplinary performance piece by visual designer Tupac Martir, used Martin Professional’s compact MAC Aura and MAC 101 LED wash lights. Describing a special scene, Martir says, “There is a moment of (using) all LED where the dancers, band and orchestra carry their own light, which illuminates their movement. The pixels in the Aura allowed this beautiful moment…that combined perfectly with the space and movement.”

WEST GOSFORD, Australia – Lots of Watts Central Coast has recently installed a new lighting bar and an LSC dimming system into a local high school auditorium, replacing their aging 1980s dimming and patching system. Jeff Morgan of Lots of Watts said, “The Redback wallmount relay option allows easy control of circuits that just need to be turned on and off, such as mirror ball, motors and odd set pieces that turn up in school theatre. The dimmers were easy to install and the option to lock out the screen touchpad is a big plus in a school install.”

LONDON, UK – White Light is supplying a spate of spring/summer theatrical productions, as the West End defies the predictions that it would suffer in the run up to the 2012 Olympics. “This remarkable array of new productions shows that theatreland will be alive and kicking during the Olympics, despite some of the pessimistic predictions we’ve been hearing,” says White Light’s Managing Director Bryan Raven.

DORTMUND, Germany – This year’s annual Mayday 2012 celebration drew 25,000 ravers for one night to the dome of Westfalenhalle 1, which was converted under the direction of lighting and set designer Thomas Gerdon into the “mother of all raves.” The designer relied on new technology from GLP, using their latest generation Wash One and Spot One automated fixtures.
